How do I change my screen name?Send a PM to Moderator1, Moderator3 or Moderator5 with the new name you want. Check to make sure someone else doesn't have it already first, your new name must be 15 characters or less, and it cannot be offensive.
Where is this "chat room" people talk about?In the upper-right corner of the screen, click on the "Chat" button. (Some workplaces will block this activity, so use judgment. Also, some older browsers may need to be updated before this will work.)
You can also reach it by clicking
here.
Is there a way I can see who is in the room without going in?On the main page of the board, scroll all the way to the bottom. Under the listing of who is currently viewing the board, you will see a list of chat participants (only if anyone is using the room).
Why does it keep asking me to log in?If you have a link to this board, change the location from
http://eagles.hosttown.com (old URL) to
http://boards.philadelphiaeagles.com (new URL).
What is "Fast Reply"?When you click the regular Reply buttons, a new page loads up with all the different smilies and HTML buttons. If you already know the codes, or you just want to type a simple text message, click the Fast Reply button and a small textarea box will appear. Type your message and post it....simple as that!
What is that warning meter, and why don't I see it for anyone else?Everyone has a warning meter that starts at 0% and you can only see your own. The moderators and admins will use this to warn you when you've broken a rule and/or become a nuisance, and if you click on the percentage, you can see the notes they leave. Each warning is a 20% increment. If you reach 60%, you get suspended for 2 weeks. If you try to sneak back in during your first suspension, it jumps to 80%, another 4 weeks are added (6 total) and the clone account is banned. 80% is a 4-week suspension. 100% is a ban. People often ask if there's a way to get their warning level reduced. That's up to the discretion of the moderators/admins, and most of the time there's a minimum of 6 months after the most recent warning before they'd consider it.
What are those stars next to the topic title?You can rate a topic to let others know if it's good or not. 5 stars means it's awesome, and 1 star means it sucks and should be ignored. You can only vote once. To submit a vote for a topic, look for the Rating dropdown menu on the right side of the topic title bar within the thread. As you move your mouse over the stars, they will fill up. Click the star on the right to give a 5-star rating, or click the star on the left to give a 1-star rating.
Can I rate posters as well?Yes! Click on their profile, then choose the appropriate star rating (1-5 stars) below the avatar where it says "Rate me".
What happened to the "ON"/"OFF" indicator that told me if someone was online or offline?In the latest version of the MB software, it has been moved to the left of the person's name. If someone is offline, it will be gray. If someone is online, it will be "lit up" with orange skin and a red shirt. (NOTE: if someone is logged in anonymously, this indicator will appear gray as if they're offline.)
What are the blue, pink or clear indicators in a person's profile?This lets you know if a poster is male or female. If it is clear/very light blue, they haven't updated their setting (or they don't know what they are!

)
