I'm normally over optimistic about this team, but I think you're suffering from denial.

No, I'm just not as big on Curtis as some people.

Stop! Not much of a dropoff? Are you freaking kidding?
#11
Posted 20 August 2008 - 01:49 PM
No I'm not, Curtis isn't that good. Neither is Brown. We aren't much worse off than before.

You're not big on Curtis and he was considered our number 1, so what does that tell you.

Maybe, but he produced last year like no other reciever could since TO. And before TO not too many Philly recievers did what Curtis did last year.
#14

that really we were not much worse off than we were to start with.

They didn't really address it, as in make it a priority and go out and sign a top tier free agent or spend a 1st round pick on the position. they just drafted well at the position the last couple of years, and picked up Takeo Spikes at a bargain bin price.
If Boldin was in that bin you can bet your a** the Eagles would pick him up. But Boldin's price is too high for the Eagles.

Curtis has more yardage last year then Avant and Baskett have in their careers combined. But yeah, your right. We aren't much worse off.

That being said, I had no problem with our receivers until today. If they were healthy I'd feel fine starting the receivers we have. Now that they're both hurting, I hope the Eagles are taking new acquisitions a little more seriously than theyre letting on.

yeah we are... They were the best to WR's on this team and they both have lingering injuries. So if Curtis isn't that good and neither was Brown what is Basket, Avant and GLew?????
Are they even as good as Thrash & Pinkston.... Well actually I believe they are but still.
McNabb's legacy may go down as the best QB to ever play without any help at WR.
Oh noooooooo...... I've entered TATErzone........I'm PANICINGZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not true at all. It is a common tactic to deny interest in a player so as not to drive up the price by others inquiring. Not that it works, but that is the thought process.

To not bring in someone is retarded, Greg Lewis started for us before and didnt show much, its unfair to lean on Djax like that.
I don't wanna hear that have faith in our depth crap from Spads, if we go into the Rams game throwing the ball all over the feild I'm gonna go through the roof (I'm sure most of you will do the same). If nobody is brought in with a proven track record (yeah I have no idea who, but someones gotta be available) then we need to start running the **** out the ball ala jacksonville style, otherwise we might have a shot at crabtree in the draft next year since we'll be picking top 5
YOU'RE NOT SMARTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE ANDY, ADAPT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

We have to go after Boldin strong now, we are so screwed if we go into the season w/ Brown, Jackson, Avant, Baskett & Lewis.

"The injuries to Curtis and Brown are not serious."
I don't love Curtis, but he is the only WR coming back who has ever caught 70+ passes, so while defenses may not gameplan to stop him, he was the only productive receiver they have. How don't you view his injury as serious?
