If Matthews shows any promise they will not get VB I dont think. They do have the firepower to move in the draft to get him though. He has that intimidation factor/attitude that Juan is looking for. I like'em. Lets get thru the season 1st though.

Hopefully theyll have enough sense to get some 1st round PLAYMAKING talent at the position but more than likely well hear......

I'd like him or Luke Kuechly out of BC for a Linebacker pick. Either go with intimidation and freak athleticism in Burfict or a highly intellegent LB and a excellent tackler in Keuchly

I just wish for once we draft a lb with first round talent. We have 2 7th round picks and Matthews who would almost be a 7th round pick if not for his last name starting

This would be a nice pickup for the Eagles to get but they will have go get a DT or OT if the current crop of players wash out. Normally the Eagles will go for a CB, DT, DE, QB, WR, or OG in the1st round. Right now it is safe to say that their QB, CB, AND WR positions are set so they won't pick one of those positions.

If DE Brandon Graham is no longer a viable option after his injury then they could try for a DE position but I have to say that they need a better scout because every one of their 1st round DE has been a bust so far. I would rather they sign a free agent then try to draft one. I guess the same can be said of their DT position as well. That leaves the Eagles position of need to be OT. With the recent Vick contract I would gather that this is a priority if Todd Herremans or Winston Justice can't cut it at RT.

Having said all that I wouldn't mind if they get Burfict because his style of play can help make this defense nasty like it used to be in the  90's. But he needs .a firm coach who can reign in  his bonehead plays that results in penalties and harness that anger. That coach doesn't sound like an Eagles coach that sounds more like a job for Rex Ryan. :-)

More likely he will waste away his career with the Bengals.

I posted about Burfict when he was a Frosh. I'm an ASU alumn and was at his 3 sack game last weekend. VB is a man amongst boys! He even dominated Georgia as a Freshman. Dennis Erickson coached Ray Lewis and makes the comparison all the time. This kid is a bad man and if he can continue to mature will be an elite MIKE LB from his first NFL snap. He would be a perfect fit in Midnight Green!

Which if he keeps that type of season up, he will be a Top 5 pick....

So we will not be getting him.

I'd kill for the Eagles to draft Burfict next year. Casey Matthews sucks, I don't care what anyone says.

Dream pick for me in the draft. Truthfully I wouldn't mind him Te'o or Brown but I like Burfict the best.

Although things can change @ the end of the year...we could end up with a better crop of LBs with "1st Rnd talent" if Juan can convince Andy and Co. For anyone interested SI has the only report projecting Burfict to go in Top 10...sooooo...

Last year I was into the eagles looking at akeem ayers early before many people here knew him.  Then people here said he was great and he'd go too high. Then his stock sunk and people here said he wasn't good enough for the eagles. Happens every year. Tough to project guys now when there is so much season left.

I would like him as much as anyone else, but let's be real here...it doesn't fix the problem immediately.

He'd then be a rookie as well, learning everything for the first time just like Matthews is. Raw talent can't make stars, as Darrius Heyward-Bey proves.

Except he actually has skills as well.
