yep. none of them have Jackson, so like I said you dont need Jackson to have a functioning offense.
I was told I was wrong.
You proved there are better offenses, and clearly they dont have DeSean.

If you are asking someone as gifted as Hill to fill the simple role Jackson has in our offense, its hardly a gamble at all.
And lets not pretend you actually think we are going to win a SB in the next 2 years with Vick. From some of your previous posts in this discussion, it doesnt seem that way.
I might consider that point if I was actually discussing it with someone who truly believed it was possible. But for now its really a waste of time to consider.
Gifted...yes
Sure thing...no
SB isn't out of the picture.  We limped to the finish with a top 10 D and had an alarming amount of weird TO's on O.  Things swing the other way and we have a chance.

the best shot we have at winning a superbowl over the next 2 years is with desean, that's the point I'm trying to make. after that it's rebuilding mode.
And the point I was trying to make is that the best shot we have is with a different look at WR meaning without DeSean. We disagree about that.
But do you or do you not believe Vick can get it done here?
If you dont, then why not just move on at WR right now?
Why let DeSean tie up 9.5 mil of our cap space that we could otherwise use to start plugging holes and strengthening the team for the future.
Why not start overhauling the WR corps right now?
And who knows, youre calling a rookie a gamble, what happens if we win that gamble this year or next and actually do pull it off with Vick?

Sure thing...no. Youre right. But much more of a sure thing when he is only replacing a 1 dimensional WR.

Im not heated. It gets annoying when youre talking to stupid people in TATE. You saw how I got with wildturtle in the Burfict thread. .We can all discuss it civilly and inteligently in here. It was fun.

well the Bucs will be cutting Faine and adding 7 million, but they haven't as of yet...so we need to stick to what is and not what might be..

and cutting come sept is a little llate in the game seeings as FA starts tomorrow..and I thought the whole debate was about cap room and FA's...if not my bad

As is often the case, I was looking at that issue from a slightly different perspective . . . sort of like dominos where one move cand cause a series of others to follow.

but all are the exact opposite of Jackson as well aside from Welker. Big, physical. And Welker is different because he makes his living in the middle which Jackson never will.
Regardless of their position, those are the types of players we need to overhaul this WR corps with. Starting with Jackson, as he is the most drastic contrast from the rest of that group.

then I'll part on us disagreeing.  I think Maclin is the replaceable one with a more seamless transition.  Celek is a top flight TE IMO.  Might not have the speed, but dear god he's scary in the open field.

Celek is fine.
Maclin is solid. He is more well rounded than Jackson.
Avant is solid, but upgradable.
But yeah, Jackson is the most 1 dimensional, and the furthest away from the style of player I want.
So...yeah we disagree. But Im going to bed now too.
Tomorrow will be a good day.

I'm staying out of the DeSean thang.  My opinion is well known when it comes to tinker toys.

Two offenses stand out for their big game potential, Philly and SD, what's their playoff record the last few years?  Only years since 2004 the Eagles went past the first round was 2006, with Garcia running a ball control scheme, and 2008, with McNabb running a ball control scheme.

NE only had a deep threat one year with Randy Moss, but have been a top offense every year.
Jennings and Driver have been the deep threats in GB, neither could beat Maclin in a foot race.
Giants, Cruz and Nicks would struggle to break 4.50, so does Manningham.
Cowboys, Robinson is the only receiver in years who can run.

There are usually a couple guys who can start and consistently make plays who are under 5'11 and faster than 4.40.
Most top WRs are 6'0-6'1 and run in the 4.45 to 4.50 range.
That's because if the safeties drop deep, they'll just adjust their routes and catch 15 yard passes all game, if the safeties try to come up and crowd them, they'll use double moves to burn them.
Good but not great size, body control, hands, vertical, smooth routes.

There's always a few freaks, very fast or big and fast, but the small fast guys (Moss, DeSean, etc) rarely catch underneath, and the big fast guys rarely can run sharp routes and get separation underneath.  There's a name for guys who do it all, All Pro.

If he's the FO's answer to the starting MIKE I feel underwhelmed personally. Not 100% sure if he's a fit at SAM either.

If Connor happens...i'm about 75% certain Kuechly is the target in the draft n we will move up to 10 if need be.

Connor - Kuechly - Rolle sounds like a much better core than last year. I'd be happy with that.

Same here. I think DeSean gets signed long term and that he has a great season.

He'll be anxious to reprieve himself this year.
