Eagles' surprising odds to win 2013 Super Bowl

The Eagles don't have much of a chance to win this year's Super Bowl. The winner of Sunday's 49ers-Giants game will represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. At least one major gaming web site says the Eagles do have a better chance than the 49ers or Giants – or any other NFC team – of winning next year's Super Bowl.

R.J. Bell of Pregame.com, dubbed by Forbes Magazine as a "gambling guru," lists the Eagles as a 12-1 shot to win the 2013 Super Bowl.

The only teams with shorter odds according to Bell are the Packers (5-1), Saints (6-1) and Patriots (8-1). He also gave the Steelers and Ravens 12-1 odds.

So according to Pregame.com, the Eagles have a better chance to win next year's Super Bowl than either team remaining in this year's NFC playoff bracket.

The Eagles, 8-8 this past season, have never won a Super Bowl. They last won an NFL Championship in 1960.

Bell's Super Bowl longshots are the Browns, Redskins, Rams and Jaguars, all at 100-1.

Super Bowl XLVII is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2013, at the Superdome in New Orleans.

Here are the complete the Super Bowl odds for 2013:

1. Packers: 5-1
2. Saints: 6-1
3. Patriots: 8-1
t4. Steelers: 12-1
t4. Eagles: 12 to 1
t7. Texans: 15-1
t7. Chargers 15-1
t9. Giants: 20-1
t9. 49ers: 20-1
t9. Cowboys: 20-1
t9. Jets: 20-1
t9. Falcons: 20-1
t9. Lions: 20-1
15. Bears: 30-1
t16. Bengals: 40-1
t16. Colts: 40-1
t16. Panthers: 40-1
t19. Chiefs: 50-1
t19. Dolphins: 50-1
t19. Raiders: 50-1
t19. Cardinals: 50-1
t19. Seahawks: 50-1
t19. Titans: 50-1
t19. Broncos: 50-1
t19. Bills: 50-1
t19. Vikings: 50-1
t19. Buccaneers: 50-1
t29. Browns: 100-1
t29. Redskins: 100-1
t29. Rams: 100-1
t29. Jaguars: 100-1

wonder why people continue to overrate us?   I'd rather fly under the radar.   Not that we have much of a chance anyway.

1) they're just as stupid as the TATErs on here who can't see anything wrong with their team...

2) they're part of the propoganda machine which so easily deceives the aforementioned idiot TATErs.

these kinds of ratings can't take into consideration the intangibles that super bowl teams seem to have.  discipline, urgency, rising up in adversity.  reid's teams never had these things......that's why they won't be there next year either.

What were the odds last year at this time?  I don't know but I suspect similar to this.

This means nothing. There aren't two sides of this bet like a game vs another team. If Vegas can get action on this one on bad odds then they have no reason to give better odds. If they aren't getting enough action then they can always give people better odds later after they see how the offseason shakes out.  There is no rush for them to give great odds.

That's just awesome. 15-1 is my opinion.

3 minutes from now I'll explain the facts why they will go 9-7 at tops. Uh, in another post.

That's not really how it works. Vegas doesn't want to get burned. They set the odds do that they dont get burned. They have no reason to overrate anyone.

Just because a team doesn't win the SB doesn't mean they weren't the most likely too. GB was still the most likely this year even they didnt. If the least likely team wins they were still a long shot.
