However, I'd welcome the addition. He's much better than what we have on the roster. Would love Connor if we can get Hawthorne.

before bradley's injury he was awesome. if connor plays like that im happy. that said i think connor is a better SAM than inside linebacker. that said prisco said we had no shot at Nnamdi last year... guess what he was wrong

Very few are even probowl-caliber.
But we're not looking for a Patrick Willis or a James Harrison.
We're searching for guys who can play solid as linebacker.
Be a consistent tackling machine and a dominant run-stuffer.
There are many "good" players out there and would be an immediate upgrade over
the likes of Casey 'Ducks' Matthews, Jamar '7th-rounder' Chaney, and Brian 'Machine Gun' Rolle.
Our strength and core of the defense is in the line. The same goes for the Giants.
What the Giants had was solid tacklers against the run, and just good enough against the pass.
That's exactly what we need here.

Of course, Kirkland, Nate Wayne, Spikes, Witherspoon, and Ernie Sims were all perfectly good LBs once too...many of whom were welcomed additions at one point.
I'd welcome the signing, but I'm still skeptical that he can break painful line of succession here.

Connor is good too, but those guys are slightly better than him and we need one of those three here.
As far as Fletcher goes, it's hard to envision the Eagles signing him. I KNOW he's consistent and a leader.
But, we usually just don't have any appetite for guys over 32. Fletcher, I would estimate, and I'm not good in math, 5 years over that age 'limit'.

Keep in mind that nothing have been confirmed yet. So no need to blow your fuse off.
The difference between Connor and the best option out there is not like the
difference between Casey Matthews and Clay Matthews. Just a thought.
