COMPLETE MOCK DRAFT 2 - EVERY ROUND - EVERY PICK
#1
Posted 12 April 2012 - 11:28 AM
RULES
- Every single pick, all 7 rounds....so you have to be active
- No Trades
- each poster will pick for for teams at a time which will be ramdomly picked (ie - picks 1 thru 4 for poster "A"), You will not have the same group of 4 picks every time, so, you won't be drafting for just one team....makes it more interesting.
POSTS
- I will have a board (in post 2) updated with - every pick in order,
- IN POST 3 every pick by Team and
IN POST 4 every pick by position. This way, You can always find out if a player is picked and so one team doesn't draft 3 RB's in the first 3 rounds.
(if someone wants to do a BPA list every once in a while again, that's cool)
- In Post 5 are the player picked by team, so follow your favorite team!

- Indianapolis- Andrew Luck QB StanfordA 6’4” 234 lb. polished passer….it’s an easy pick for Indy as Peyton Manning’s replacement
2. Washington – Robert Griffin III QB Baylor
The Heisman winner ran a 4.41 at the combine and was a 67.1% completion rate in college. He is the reason why the skins moved up in the draft.
3. Minnesota – Matt Kalil OT USC
The Vikes must protect Ponder. They start with the best OT in the class. 6’7” 306 lbs and the strength to handle NFL lineman.
4. Cleveland – Trent Richardson RB Alabama
The only complete back, everydown back in the draft. The Browns look hard at Claiborne and Blackmon but fill a huge void in the backfield.

As much I think the Bucs need front 7 help, anytime the BPA is on your list of needs, you take him. Schiano wants to build a solid running game and stout defense. Taking the # 1 ranked defensive player immediately makes them that much better.
6. St. Louis - WR Justin Blackmon, Ok St.
Their list of needs is endless, but it's time to help Sam Bradford out and give him a big time, physical target.
7. Jacksonville - DE Quinton Coples, UNC
Another team with a laundry list of needs, and though I feel that they will trade back, one desperate need is at DE and to get the best one in any draft is a big plus.
8. Miami - QB Ryan Tannehill, Tex A&M
This team whiffed heavy and often with bringing in a franchise QB, but management is on the hot seat and they need to pull the trigger on one even if he might not be ready for another year.

The Panthers need help on the D-Line. This will help Charles Johnson out.
10. Buffalo - Riley Reiff OT Iowa
This 6'6' 313 lb Tackle helps out a major need of the Bills.
11. Kansas City - Dontari Poe NT Memphis
6' 4' 346 lb NT is a must to anchor the line.
12. Seattle - Luke Kuechy ILB Boston College
The seahawks lost a lot , now they nab the best LB in the draft.

Probably the first blatant reach of the draft, but Arizona desperately needs OLine help and Adams is the best OT left in the draft. Simply a need pick here.
14. Dallas - CB Stephon Gilmore, South Carolina.
A toss up between he and Kirkpatrick, but Gilmore may be a tad more polished, arguably. A big need here for Dallas should be nicely filled.
15. Philadelphia - DT Fletcher Cox, Miss St.
With Kuechly off the board, the Eagles go with the next best thing, a disruptive do-it-all DT to groom in the rotation. BPA and fits a need.
16. NY Jets - OLB Courtney Upshaw, Alabama
Tossed around the idea of goin with Michael Floyd, but Upshaw and his gifts fits a bigger need. WR is deep so the Jets can afford to wait on that position.

The Bengals look at WR Floyd but can't pass on the best interior lineman in the draft.
18. San Diego - Michael Brockers DE LSU
BPA, Brockers is too talented at 6'6" 322 lbs to pass on.
19. Chicago - Michael Floyd WR Notre Dame
Yes, they added a top flight WR in free agency....now they add even more fire power for Cutler.
20. Tennessee - Whitney Marceilus DE Illinios
The Titians are desperate for pass rushers.

With the loss of Joseph and despite recently adding Newman, The Bengals look to bolster their CB depth with a good value pick in Kirkpatrick.
22. Cleveland - WR Kendall Wright, Baylor
Cleveland needs weapons, desperately. Having already picked up Richardson, they come away with a solid WR to give Colt McCoy at least a fighting chance.
23. Detroit - OT Jonathan Martin, Stanford
It's time to start protecting Matthew Stafford and putting OLine at a priority. Detroit goes out and gets their man with this pick.
24 Pittsburgh - ILB Donta Hightower, Alabama
And the Alabama boys keep on coming off the board. Pittsburgh needs to inject some youth into that D and getting a leader like Hightower is a solid move.

Bunkley is gone and it's a glaring hole that needs to be filled.
26. Houston - Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech
Hill is an athletic freak that will learn the ropes from one of the best WR's in Johnson.
27. New England - Jenoris Jenkins CB North Alabama
The Pats see their pick in Hill go, but also have a need at CB. Jenkins was a stud at Florida.
28. Green Bay - Andre Branch OLB Clemson
Clay Matthews needs someone opposite him...enter, the 6'4" 259 lber.

Makes too much sense. Birk's career is almost over and Baltimore needs to rejuvenate the interior offensive line.
30. 49ers - TE Coby Fleener, Stanford
Not only did Harbaugh recruit him, but 2 TE sets is what San Fran likes to run. Vernon Davis still has plenty left in the tank, but Fleener is probably the best offensive weapon left.
31. Patriots - DT/DE Kendall Reyes, Uconn
Patriots continue to address their poorous defense with a solid pickup to help their front 7. Wilfork is getting up there in age unless they bounce Reyes to DE in their hybrid 3-4 scheme.
32. NY Giants - OT/OG Cordy Glenn, Georgia
Solid value and the Giants need Oline youth. Another likely steal for the G-men.
33. St. Louis - OLB Shea McClellin, Boise St.
Pass rusher who can play OLB in a 3-4 or 4-3 IMO. Outside of Laurinitis, the Rams are weak at LB, among other positions.
34. Indianapolis - WR Reuben Randle, LSU
They need a target for their future franchise QB in Andrew Luck. Reggie Wayne is old and Garcon is gone.
35. Minnesota - DE Chandler Jones, Syracuse
DE needs a boost with Allen getting up there. Vikes can go a number of directions here, but defense help this draft is a must.
36. Tampa Bay - RB David Wilson, Va Tech
They didn't get a shot at Trent Richardson, so they pick up Claiborne and the 2nd best RB in the draft in David Wilson.

They nab Trent Richardson and Kendall Wright in the first and now get some help for Colt McCoy in protection and to open up some holes. 6'5" 333 lbs.
38. Jacksonville - Mohamed Sanu WR Rutgers
The Jags need WR help and haven't had a 1,000 WR since Jimmy Smith. Enter the 6'2" 211 lb Sanu.
39. St. Louis - from Washington - Devon Still DT Penn State
The Rams picked up the best WR in the draft and and OLB Mclellin, now they get a 6'5" 303 lb DT to help out the second worst defense against the run.
40. Carolina - Josh Robinson CB UCF
They already nabbed DE Ingram in the first round and stay on that side of the ball. Robinson blew up the combine and ran a 4.33 fourty.

Goes to show you how talent-rich this draft is in WR's. Jeffrey falls due to a lack of top end-speed, but he's got nice hands and solid route-running and should be a good complement to Stevie Johnson. Having already gone OT, the Bills need a playmaker at WR.
42. Miami - SS Mark Barron, Alabama
Ok, I'll admit it. I didn't realize he was still available. We goofed. It happens. Then again...some players do inexplicably nose-dive the day of the draft: QB Brady Quinn, QB Aaron Rodgers, RB Thurman Thomas etc.. Well, I guess it's Barron. Dolphins lost Yeremiah Bell and could use a big time safety and Barron would be the steal of steals.
43. Seattle - DE Vinny Curry, Marshall
They pick up a phenom MLB and now a DE loaded with potential. Seattle has to be very happy the way the board fell thus far.
44. Kansas City - TE Dwayne Allen, Clemson
Moeaki is decent, but was injured. The Chiefs need a replacement for Gonzalez who really, is irreplaceable. Allen should be a nice guy to develop though.

The Cowboys got a great CB in Gilmore but they now turn their attention to the offense. They need a OG and this 6'4" 311 lber may be from a small school but he has NFL talent.
46. Philadelphia - Zach Brown OLB UNC
The Iggles got DT Fletcher Cox in the first and sure up the OLB position after getting DR from Houston. This kid is a great athlete and has the size (6'1" 244) that the Birds need.
47. New York Jets - Lamar Miller RB Miami
The Jets got Upshaw in the first and nab this speedy playmaker for their backfield. Face it , Green and McKnight are not giving enough at the RB position.
48. New England - from Oakland -Nick Perry DE USC
They stay on the defensive side after getting CB Jenkins and DT/DE Reyes. Perry is Special. He's big (6'3" 271) and ran a 4.64 fourty. The Pats like to to switch between a 4-3 and 3-4, so this kid fits in well.

They went DE in the first have to give Rivers something other than Meachem to target.
50. Chicago - OT Bobby Massie, Ole Miss
Have to protect Cutler better.
51. Philadelphia - SS Harrison Smith, Notre Dame
Thought about going Boykin, but Smith is excellent value and it's becoming clear Jarrett is not ready. Sadly, 3rd year in a row they go S in round 2.
52. Tennessee - CB Brandon Boykin, Georgia
Lost Finnegan, need someone to develop.

The last of the true 3 down backs. He does it all well, run , catch and block. Green-Ellis is not the future.
54. Detroit* - Jayron Hosley CB Virginia Tech
They lost Wright in FA and the secondary wasn't that good to begin with.
55. Atlanta* - Kevin Zeitler OG Wisconsin
The Falcons need help on the O-Line , so they pick the BPA.
56. Pittsburgh* - Alameda Ta'Amu NT Washington
a 6'3" 348 pond nose tackle is needed because Hampton got injured. Even if he is healthy, they have to start thinking of the future. Their aren't man space eaters like Ta'Amu in the draft.

I'd imagine Peyton would like to add a few weapons in the draft. Denver's fairly weak at TE.
58. Houston - OLB Lavonte David, Nebraska
Why Houston completely dismantled their defense is beyond me. At least coming out of this draft w/ Hill and David would put Texans fans a little bit at ease.
59. New Orleans - Forfeit
60. Green Bay - OT Jeff Allen, Illinois
Green Bay needs to inject some youth into it's offensive line.
61. Baltimore - ILB Mychal Kendricks, Cal
It's time to seriously start thinking about Ray Lewis replacement.

Gore got injured yet again, it's time to take the load off and find an eventual replacement, recently signed Jacobs is just a back up
63. New England* - Brian Quick WR Appalachian State
The Cinco experiment was a bust...they need more than just TE's catching the ball.
64. New York Giants*- Isaiah Pead RB Cincinnati
Jacobs is gone and they nab a RB to take over some, if not all, the duties.
Round 3
65. Indianapolis -
Jared Crick DE Nebraska
The changeobver to the 3-4 begins now.
66. St. Louis - Jamell Fleming CB Oklahoma
They need a quality CB.
67. Minnesota - Joe Adams WR Arkansas
Harvin is the only WR to speak of for Minny.
68. Cleveland - Brock Osweiler QB Arizona State
Good draft so far...now they get the REAL QB OF THE FUTURE.
69. Tampa Bay -Bobby Wagner OLB Utah State
The OLB corps may be one of the worst. Not now.
