Height: 6'4"
Weight: 255 pounds

He plays the run equally as good as he rushes the passer. Often lines up in a Wide Nine stance. Great explosiveness and pure strength. Would be a great fit in Washburn's system.

We should return to this guy after the Noles play a legitimate team. Clemson coming up this week should finally be a real test

Only defense I can think of for him would be we're so deep at the DE position that it wouldn't really make sense. I mean we currently have Curry inactive for games and he's got loads of potential

You can never have enough pass rushers. Especially when Jason Babin will be turning 33 and has a big contract and Darryl Tapp is in his final year of his deal. Either way, it was just a dumb and un-needed post.

If you don't like the idea, don't post in it. Alot can happen to our DE's in the span of 16 games. I already mentioned Babin and Tapp's situation. Sitting back satisfied with what you have and not constantly looking to upgrade is retarded. FOOH bro.

Ok then this thread is just speculation on what might happen to our DE's. I can say that about any position and post a draft want.

LOL at missing the point completely.

At the end of the day, you should always be looking to upgrade your team with impact players. Especially at a position that you can rotate frequently throughout a game.

Like I asked before, how many games has he played for FSU?, Why?, FSU has a history of overhyped/overated DE's and DT's

Jamal Reynolds 1st rd pick- Bust
Everett Brown 2nd rd pick - Bust
Corey Simon 1st rd pick- Great early, faded real quick
Andre Wadsworth 1st rd pick- Injured and out of the NFL real quick
Brodrick Bunkely 1st rd pick- one year wonder at FSU, great pass rusher too, gets in the NFL and does'nt do much, and on his 3rd team
Alphonso Carreker 1st rd pick- had one year he had 9 sacks, the others where average for a DE taken 12 th overall
Alonzo Jackson 2nd rd pick- Steelers tried to make a OLB, did'nt work, other teams put him back at DE (Eagles IIRC?) , did'nt work

Travis Johnson who was the 16th overall pick back in 2005 and he was constantly hurt

*Darnell Dockett- Pretty good DT/DE*

* I do feel we will draft a DE, in what RD's  I don't know?

Life long FSU fan, I would love Werner. Absolute beast, just started playing football so not alot of wear on his body. JPP type in terms of his just starting to play but having awesome upside.

I will never have a problem taking raw DEs with huge upside due to freakish athleticism.  If that's the type of player he is, I'm interested.

Graham, Curry, and Hunt are probably the only guys who are going to be here long-term.  Trent Cole is slowing down, or has been playing with an injury all season.  If you're sticking with Washburn, or at least sticking with Washburn's system you need 4 starting caliber DE's.  Maybe not this guy but if he was, say, a top-10 talent and he fell past 18, hell yeah I'd get that guy.  The new philosophy, if this year is any indication, is all about BPA.

We need another undersized defensive lineman like Imelda Marcos needed more shoes.

"undersized?", OK, with the exception of Juqua Parker (250 LB's) and Hunt (same), our DE's are right on par "size wise" as any other 4/3 defense.

Our pass rush has been horrific.  Werner is the best DE in the draft.  Curry hasn't played, Graham still hasn't shown anything amazing, and Cole & Babin have been massively disappointing and are getting older (especially Babin).

Would love to have Werner. He is still unpolished as a pass rusher but I have seen really good things from him the past 2 seasons. He seems to have a very good understanding of the game even though he has only played a few years. He has the size and strength that is needed and is very athletic for his size. He can bull rush and has some good finesse moves, is good in run defense, and has very good awareness for batting down passes when he is not able to get to the quarterback. He may never be the most elite pass rusher, but I think he is going to end up being an really good to great all around , every down DE.

This year he has been double teamed a lot which has resulted in Carradine getting a ton of sack and pressure on the quaterback from the other DE position

D-line is laughable. Babin shouldn't be starting next season. Even if/when Curry has more playing time and a greater role, adding Werner would still be a smart move to improve a weak, disappointing position.

I hear the fans who say DE isn't exactly a need right now, but if an opportunity that's too good to pass up comes up then we need to take it. This guy seems legit, but if I had my pick i'd go OG first round and hope, scratch that pray that Ezekiel Ansah is still available in the 2nd round.
