There is a chance the Steelers could beat the Giants this week. If we beat NO, that would be a huge monkey off their back.

They then can possibly go on a 4 game roll by beating Dallas, Washington then Carolina.

If the Giants lose to the Steelers this week or lose to the Bengals on the road, the Eagles would be 1 game back due to winning on the Giants bye week.

After the Giants bye they face GB, NO, Atl, Balt and Philly.

The Eagles face, Dallas, TB, Cin, Wash and NY

Eagles have a shot in getting the division if they win this week. I know people want to get rid of Reid that bad that they are willing to lose and miss the playoffs. But I'm hanging in there because my team comes above any coach or player.

At this point, I'm more than happy to sacrifice this season to get the fatman outta here. So F it!

Don't want to get too far ahead here, but with a win Monday and a Giant loss today the next couple weeks look promising.

The play calling is trash on both sides of the ball
The O-line is trash
Defensive backs are playing like trash
Vick is playing like trash
The players are trash talking

This season is in the garbage.

I want to believe, but it is so damn hard to have any faith in this team anymore with Reid and the coordinators (on both sides of the ball) and such questionable play-calling.

-playing DRC in the slot on any downs (knowing how much he struggles there)
-assigning Coleman, Ryans, or Kendricks to cover Cruz on any plays (or Coleman on Roddy White)
-failing to use more split back (I formation) after having so much success with it in the 2nd half against NY, when the running game has been so poor
-etc.

For all the preaching Reid has done over the years about "putting his players in the best position" blah blah blah, he rarely does.  

I'm at the point where I don't want to have faith for the rest of 2012 only so that we can finally move on with a new coaching staff.

Yeah, no ish.  I lost faith a long time ago.  Worst thing for us as fans is if this team goes on a roll this season.

Agreed.  First season in my 20 plus seasons of LOVING this team that it doesn't bother me to miss a game.  I use to live and die on every play and was devasted after every tough loss.  Now, indifference.  The time for change has come.  Here's to an new look Eagles squad in 2013.

Like many, I won't give up hope until the team is mathematically eliminated, and I'l continue to root for them even then. I agree with the OP that our remaining schedule is nominally easier than the Giants'.

But I seriously doubt that NY will lose to Cincy, and there's no arguing that the Eagles have already lost to a couple teams they "should have" beaten. Unless NY Implodes in the second half of the season, we'll be scratching for a wildcard spot, which means competing with half the Conference, not just the Giants and maybe Cowboys.

The Eagles did beat two playoff caliber teams already this year, so I don't think it's a stretch to believe they could beat playoff caliber teams.

you're right, but it is a stretch assuming that reid could win 3 or 4 in a row against good teams which is what it takes

I agree.  If the Eagles make the playoffs though, I can only imagine that they did it by turning things around, which could make them a dangerous team.  I still don't think that they'd have a good chance of winning it all, but one can always hope.

I really can't get excited about beating up on bad teams (we did such a good job with those elite teams like the Cards and Lions). Just to get trounced in the playoffs.

If that's really true then you really should hope they don't do anything that will give Lurie another excuse to keep these idiots around. Guys like you are what allow him to have sham PCs like the one he did at the end of last year & talk about unacceptability but then do nothing.

The longer Reid stays, the longer this goes on, and the longer this team continues to FAIL. It's time for CHANGE, no matter the cost.

10 years of watching Vick. 15 years of watching Andy.  And more recently, an average, apathetic team.  There's no reason to believe that this team will do anything in the playoffs.

Their last win was over a month ago. 0 for October. None of the 3 wins were impressive. 7 first quarter points in 7 games. This team has shown nothing that they will turn this around.

If you gave up on the Eagles fine, but to wish them to lose makes you a non eagles fan.

This is what Reid, Marty and his teams have been for 14 years. Much longer before Reid. This fan base doesn't have the right to question or criticize how this team plays or is run?!!  Yeah right!!

Babin hasn't watched 15 years of Reid putting the definition of insanity to the test.  I nominate him to be Reid's chauffeur at the end of the season.
