It's been tossed around here, but here's an official thread. Probably if Marc Ross was brought Gilbride would end up being the HC. Whatever the FO problem was with Marc Ross, they need to get over it. It's pretty clear the Giants got a significant boost in young talent after Ross got there. Whatever the argument, Ross clearly was right, Roseman and whoever else was wrong.
Marc Ross - GM

As I posted off and on for what seems like a couple years now, I don't know if he is THE guy, but I believe he is a candidate that should be looked at and interviewed. His positive impact on the Giants drafts, as their Director of College Scouting is clear. He may be ready for the next step up into the GM role, so the Eagles should take a look at him....although, based on the history, he may not want to come back.
Whoever they settle on and bring in, the guy MUST be a supremely connected, top shelf talent evaluator (players, scouts and coaches), who has the ability and the drive to be the very best, and who is rooted in a flexible, but yet traditional football philosophy....no more one trick pony shows....it's enough already.
Once the Eagles GM, and the entire player personnel department (both College and Pro sides) are the very best in the NFL, the Lombardi trophy will start showing up to live in south Philadelphia...I promise........in fact, it's the only way it happens.......EVERY multiple-championship team in NFL history stands as undeniable proof of that one simple truth.

I don't want Kevin Gilbride but I would want Marc Ross as the next GM.

Ordinariily I would say "ANYONE but Howie", but this would actually be a fine choice. It's clear that Ross, or someone, for that matter, in the Giants organization has a sharp eye for college talent.

I don't know why the Eagles decided to let this guy walk. I know it was awhile ago, but still under the Reid tenure. If we can sure up our scouting and keep this team packed with young talent, that makes the transition to a new head coach that much easier.

Internal strife....if i remember correctly, he bumped heads with Reid......just more proof that Ross is a smart guy, because the walrus makes no sense...ever.
