This game seems to be do or die for this season.  I think if the Eagles fall behind and Vick is either not scoring or careless with the ball than Andy could yank Vick because he so desperately needs win. However, we've also seem a tendency that Andy will take the ship down with Vick at the helm at all costs.

Thoughts?

He won't be able to score. Just like every other game except the Baltimore game. His new "aggressive" play is better know to fans as "idiotic play"

He's thrown his lot in with Vick ever since #5 was traded and Kolb benched. He won't change his mind now. For good or bad, Vick will be his guy.

Edit: Barring injuries, of course.

I think Spags will be super aggressive causing Vick to turn the ball over and calling for people to say the OL sucks and its not Vick. But when you bring 6 or 7 and have 5 to block it's on the QB to find the uncovered guy. Vick rarely does and when he does it's the guy 2 yards away that's still largely covered.

Michael Vick will probably do well but the Defense is going to allow the Saints to march down the Field and score as they feel the need to.  You should have started a poll asking will the defense or special teams be replaced.

Agree with vicZipCode.

The offense will put up more points that it has all season (talk about setting a low bar), but the defense will allow a romp, the team will lose, and Vick will be blamed.

To me if the D keeps it at 24 or less than any loss would be on the O. Obviously turnovers and special teams could effect that opinion but right now my feeling is the O needs to score more than 24 or they are to blame. And Vick is the QB so it falls on him mainly.

This is the kind of game I could see Foles dominate(on offense) but it's not the first we've played that I've felt that way about.  I really don't see how Reid can expect me to believe he's trying to win games when he continues to keep Vick as starter. It just doesn't pass the smell test. No one expects Lurie to fire Reid mid-season -though I think it would improve the team. No. Vick will play and the Eagles will lose and fingers will be pointed. Then Andy will say, 'I've gotta do better at that.'

Funny how Foles had no problem staying upright and finding open receivers behind the EXACT SAME LINE that Vick got killed behind throughout the preseason.

keyword is preseason......notice when juan castillo was the still the OL coach....vick had a great year in 2010.....the last two years that has exactly been the problem.

Who cares if it was preseason? The point is that Vick is having the same problems in the REGULAR SEASON as he did in the preseason. He got his a** handed to him all throughout preseason and the line looked like garbage, yet Foles comes in and has no trouble playing behind the exact same line as Vick.

foles should be starting. Our playmakers are not getting the ball. That's been the biggest difference. Sure it was preseason but he was using everybody consistently. Harbor,celek,jackson,johnson,maclin,mccoy,avant...It looked like a real offense !!!

Great year until the Minnesota game when he was exposed and never recovered, Besides he was 30 then and now he's 32 and average LBs are chasing him down.

If we do, I'm gonna say it will be a situation similar to Donovan's benching against Baltimore, where we see Vick return to the starting line-up the following week (unless Foles comes in and really plays lights out).

I think at 3-4, and with the game going such that we are looking at 3-5, it still might be too early for Reid to hit the panic button and go to Foles.  If Vick is really stinking it up, I could see a temporary benching.  Vick usually plays well against Dallas, so I could see Andy wanting him back as the starter for that game.

The OL was terrible in 2010, horrible. It was very good last year and Vick still sucked.

At this point for Andy to flip flop it would make him look even more pathetic than he already does in recent years. But it's certainly not out of the question given his poor decision making since '10

Just to remind everyone IF Foles plays and does great...he'd be playing the worst defense in the league. So don't put him on a pedestal after tonights game.

But would it really be a flip-flop if Andy, after the game, makes a statement that Vick is still the starting QB, that he just felt like we needed to get some kind of rhythm going and perhaps a change to Nick might accomplish this, since it was obvious Vick was struggling ?

I don't really see it happening, as I've stated before - maybe only if Vick is having a really bad game.

Foles has talent, i dont want Reid to ruin him like all the others.

He should only put him in to move past the vick experiment.... coach killer

Foles with a Sean Peyton would be a great new start in eagleland....

As a fan of this team for almost 60 years, I can understand frustration. What I cannot understand is the hatred ( intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury). Michael Vick is trying to win games every time he goes on the field. Would I have chosen another QB to run this team, yes. That being said, our O-Line truly sucks( Watson a Bust) The wide nine sucks.  Marty sucks and after 14 years, everyone knows his game plan. Our defense is bad.

There are more people than just Reid responsible for this mess ( Howie). Juan was actually getting better, bad choice at first but was getting better and he had green blood in him all the way. If Vick had a larger more powerful line that could hold back a blitz, we had a bruiser full back  to get us the short yardage. More physical blocking by stronger receivers. 60 minutes of play by our defense. Maybe we could win some games. Come to think of it, a team like Atlanta Falcons that gave us a good old fashioned barn whoopin'

So, point is to blame just Vick is a mistake you guys are doing out of  frustration -( a common emotional response to opposition. Related to anger and disappointment ) Let's see what happens after tonight's game against the Saints and if he does really bad, then I will join you in the anger.

Go Birds!
