despite actually trying a bit harder this week, this team continues to struggle to score points in the redzone regardless of the opponent. how many weeks/years does it take to learn what works and what doesn't? after 14 years as hc Andy Reid still calls horrible plays inside the 20. didn't he get that memo? he should just call the opposite of what his giant gut tells him and we'll win every game

Playcalling: The Eagles rushed for 221 yards on 29 carries. That's a 7.9 yards per carry average. For some reason, the Eagles still leaned more on the pass in the first half. They went away from the run almost entirely to start the second half. Vick ended with 41 throws.

I think one thing that really hurt them is when they're down in the red zone they don't often put the ball in the end zone. They seem to throw it short of the end zone and try to run it from there. I think defenses are just doing a good job stopping them from that.

we could possibly be the worst team in the league if you consider the three squeaker wins at the start of the season.

it is all down hill from here guys. players appear to have already began to quit.

rebuilding mode for the next season or two. lots of changes ahead.

Yep. I think last night was it. Barring a miraculous turnaround and 6-7 game winning stretch, this season is over. Reid's D day is now on a countdown timer.

The Eagles look scared running the ball , and throwing.  even the coaches look scared why is that?

What bothers me is how they were knocking on the door twice and ended up turning the ball over. If they finished all 4 of their red zone drives with TDs the Eagles win that game. They had opportunities and couldn't cash in. That's why this team is 3-5. They've had opportunities and couldn't finish the drives. That's what bothers me.

The Eagles also scored 10 of their 13 points to start the second half.  Of the last 19 plays (not including runs by Vick) 16 of them were passes by Vick and 3 were runs by McCoy.  This was when they were down by 15 late in the game.

Excluding the final two minutes of the first half (where the Eagles passed three times and then ran once to finish the half), the Eagles had 16 runs and 16 passes, while being sacked 3 times.

I do agree that the one bit of questionable playcalling was after the fumble recovery on the kickoff.

Honestly guys, I knew we weren't going to win. I was telling my wife and kids last night that the Eagles OLine is so bad they will make the worst D in the league look like one of the best. And hey, that's how it went down. When Herremans went down I looked at the screen and any glimmer of hope was gone right then and there.

I gotta say, Vick has shown some improvement in the last 2-3 weeks but it gets overshadowed by the line not being able to protect him so it forces him to move around or attempt throws he probably shouldn't. Now, that doesn't relieve Vick of his own boneheaded mistakes because he's definitely has has them but Vick is less of the problem, that's crystal clear at this point.

That ish doesn't bother me anymore.  For the first time in all my years of being an Eagles fan, I can say I don't care anymore.  Going 0-for-5 in the RZ against the worst D in the league is just symbolic of what this team has become under Reid.  I'll start to care again when he and the rest of his coaches are gone, because at least at that point there could potentially be some upside for this team, which is more than you can say about this current team - right now there is absolutely none.

Remember last season when I spoke about the numb feeling I had after Castillo was hired? It's really starting to come back. There's no heart, no desire, no sense of urgency, this team is just lacking in basically every single way. It's sad that we as fans saw what was wrong last year and now it's more of the same. For 10 minutes back in January, Lurie sold us on the idea that it was unacceptable and all that and had us believe even if it was just for a few minutes that something was gonna be done. But then he said he was gonna give Reid another chance. The season is done.

Yeah, I've been feeling more and more badly for Vick, last night definitely made it clear that the combination of the Oline and the HORRIBLE play calls is too much. I was yelling for Vick to be benched, but nobody can have confidence with the support he is provided. There is no way I would be able to maintain my composure like he has on the podium and on the field. I would LOSE MY ****.

It was reported that in the pre-game team meeting last night, many players were "looking off into space, appearing disinterested".  Don't know how that could have been reported - wouldn't think reporters would be allowed in these meetings.  But if that is the case, then the players certainly are not responding to Reid or feeling any sense of urgency.

Funny thing is, even after Lurie announced Reid would return in his post season PC, while I was mostly skeptical, part of me still believed that we could be a team to reckon with this year.  <_<

Yea I know what you're saying. I know if it were me, I couldn't keep my mouth shut on/off the field or during the press interviews. I'd probably wouldn't even address the media, i'd take the fine. But then again I also know if I mouth off someway the media will get a hold of it and the controversy begins. Idk how, but id say something, somewhere.

I felt that way, up until the first offensive series against the Browns when I realized...hey, I've seen this story before.

I don't know how any reporters would know that especially since those meetings are closed to reporters so somebody's either making up a story for the sake of having something to report or somebody came out and ran their mouth. I think it's the former. After the lockout and the Eagles went on to the spending spree I just sat up and said ok it was always a 2 year deal. And I thought like you, this team could be a serious problem this year. Yeah it's a problem and it's definitely not the one we were looking for.

I think we have the worst defense. Besides Sims and Ryans and Graham, every player on defense should be looked at.

Nnamdi can not tackle worth a damn.
Cole and Jenkins are non-existant.
Babin is complete garbage.

It's obvious this team has given up besides a few players.

Well they were down by 2 scores, you have to throw.

I posted before the game, the eagles average scoring is 17. and the saints average 27.

The eagles did not surprise, they flopped as I expected, although hopeful they would show signs of life, I was pessimestic they would overcome.

This team of players need a kick in the arse, not coddling... I would revamp the entire team and change the headcoach.

IMO, Reid is a good coach, but think he is too soft with the players, and not the best game day coach on the sideline. Time for change but the change needs to be right.

SEAN PEYTON PLEASE!!!! lol

btw I paid alot for tickets to Tampa, can you please change the team this week and return "hope" in the near future?!?!?!?!?

5 times in the redzone. 0 tds. coming into the game we were the worst in the league in the redzone. when is Andy Reid gonna "do a better job there"?  same mistakes week in week out. for 14 years. and again no timeouts at the end of the game but that's nothing new

You need a QB that can see over the line, and must be quicker to read and react to the defense in the redzone. Proof Vick is nto the answer.

You also need a running attack with power when you get closer to the endzone, o-line and running attack improvements required also!!

I thought Eagles offense would have a good night against terrible Saint's D. Outcome just confirms what I thought 3 games ago, this years Eagles just arent good! Oline is horrible,Defense sucks, play calling is a joke, Vick's turnovers keep mounting, all I can say is Bye Andy!

height isn't the issue. drew brees is 6'0. Russell Wilson is even shorter. Vick just flat out cant play anymore

And it doesn't help when you have the ball, down by two scores in the 4th quarter, under 7 minutes to play and you're walking in and out of the huddle like you're ahead and about to go into victory formation.

Not really going out on a limb considering almost the whole line is back ups right now.
