I didn't think it would go well last night..........but didnt expect it to get THAT worse.  Anyway, its officially rebuilding time..... I'm done with project optimism under Andy Reid.

I'm looking forward to watching more college conferences than the SEC to find good prospects for next year.

I want the Eagles to LOAD UP with draft picks for the new regime, fire sale a few players that actually have some value........

Here is my list of keepers heading into next season
OFFENSE
1. Foles
2. Bryce Brown
3. Shady
4. Havili
5. Dunlap (because we cant replace the WHOLE OL in one offseason)
6. Polk
7. Djax
8. Herremans (maybe, but I want him back at guard)
9. Peters (keep him out all this year make SURE he is ready for next year)
10. Cooper (I liked that block)

Thats all I can think of right now.

DEFENSE

Ryan
Kendricks
Marsh
Graham
Cox
Thornton
Landri
Curry
Chaney
Cole (would like to convert him to an LB, may sound crazy but I dont think he needs a hand in the turf anymore, worked for Kiwanuka)
Allen (only because I have to keep a safety, not because I really want him)

Thats it.  Everyone else can be traded for picks or secondary/oline help or just sliced off the roster altogether.   Any questions?

McCoy, Brown and not a single player beyond that.  None, nada, zip.  Should take 2 years at a minimum, more likely 4+ years.

I get rid of djax too.  We dont need that kind of mentality on the new team, and hes kinda a one trick pony.  He disappears in the redzone.  The rest I agree with.  Though id consider keeping clay harbor as well maybe avant

no one is safe. I have no loyalty to any of these players. McCoy is my favorite eagle but I'd trade him for a few picks in a heartbeat. not because I don't think he'd help my team but because he deserves better than this. he's a great rb who could've been in canton someday if he wasn't unfortunately drafted by the eagles

I  would agree, but thats too much turnover in one season, I at least want to be mildly competitve.

You let DJax go to an offensive coordinator who knows how to use him, and you have a defensive nightmare on your hands.  I pray we can bring in someone who knows how to use him properly.

I would not be opposed to getting a very high draft pick for him though, as long as I have a coach/GM who wont blow it.

I want keep DRC to but I cant.  He is keeping the defense on the field way too much, and that tackling last night........horrible.  I want corners who can hit people.

Offense: Shady, Peters, Jackson, Celek (something's just off with him, I'm hoping it's just this year), Herremans, Bryce Brown, Polk, Foles

Defense: Cole, Cox, Curry, Marsh, Kendricks, Graham

I'm still holding out hope for DRC & Nnamdi, maybe it's because I'm crazy, I don't know.

They need new safeties completely. Nate Allen stinks, Kurt Coleman is terrible. They just need new turnover.

I think next offseason would be the perfect time to switch to a 3-4 defense. I think Cox would be a good fit as a DE, we could draft a big NT and Graham could finally be utilised at OLB. That's what I'd do anyway, we'll have to see what the new coach thinks and what his defensive preference will be. Other than Kendricks, I wouldn't really keep that many other players on our defensive roster. It's just depressing.

As for the offense, I would keep Shady, Brown and Foles. I'm struggling to think of any others I'd want to keep. Obviously this wholesale change is unlikely and others will be kept, but none jump off the page for me.

I honestly think that there is still a lot of talent on the team. The main problems are coming from the offensive and defensive philosophy, or lack thereof.

We could have a considerably better team with 7 of 11 starters on defense and 6 of 11 starters on offense.

Offense: Peters, Herremans, Celek, McCoy, Jackson, Maclin.
Defense: Cole, Cox, Jenkins, Ryans, Kendricks, Allen, Boykin.

I know a lot of people would whine about keeping some of them, but in a lot of cases they're just being used wrong.

That would be the perfect time to make wholesale changes. Whoever comes in here would have to get away from the Reid philosophy which would obviously mean letting a lot of the players go because they fit what Reid wanted to do.

Offense:  Peters, Foles, Herremans, Avant, DeSean, Brown, Polk, Kelly.  If a good trade for Shady comes along then you have to make the trade.  What do Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster, Maurice Jones-Drew, Chris Johnson, L Tomlinson, Barry Sanders, etc. all have in common?  For whatever reason, no Super Bowls.  System RB's like Terrell Davis have them but not many elite, or supposedly elite, RB's just don't.  Rebuilding processes happen through an influx of draft picks and Shady is the only guy who's going to give you a massive haul.  Nobody else is safe.

Defense:  Cox, Boykin, Ryans, Kendricks, Landri (better get re-signed), Graham, Curry, maybe Allen.

ST's:  Henery, Anderson

I actually still think Vick can get it done in the right situation.

He is back there behind the worst offensive line ive ever seen with two braindead fatasses calling the plays.

They need to stop signing defensive players in free agency.  It does nothing for the team.  It's better to start building a defense from scratch.  When you grow up together, you get to know each other better and who's got your back.  When you keep paying lots of money for big name players, both the signed player and the team aren't on key with each other.  Besides what do these free agents care anymore?  They got paid and will probably end out their careers on the team that paid them.  Who wants to have a disabling injury after you get paid where you can't even enjoy the money?

You're entitled to your opinion. My opinion is that the problem is two-fold: Vick is incapable of making quick reads AND you have the two brain-dead fatties calling plays. So, I no longer want the right situation for Vick, I want a different situation with a better, more reliable QB.

The team also has to stop looking for running QBs.  Running QBs aren't good in the league.  In order for them to not get injured, coaches take away from what actually made them an NFL QB and then try to mold them into a pocket passer.  Get an elusive pocket passer who has good peripheral vision to know when to side step, duck, spin, etc. This type of QB already has the fundamentals of throwing down.  Why try to teach the fundamentals of throwing to someone who really didn't do that for their entire football history?

I'm from VA and been a Vick fan since Tech.  He's been hit too much and its messed up his play.  I have to wave the white flag on him now.

He can still make a play or two, , could possibly flourish in a backup or lead role, but he cant consistently lead a pass based offense from the pocket.

I cant spend any more of my Eagles fanhood energy watching Vick Sixes via fumbles and interceptions.  Im getting old, and I dont handle stress as well as I used to.  Its that serious.

Maclin sucks.  He wants big money and isn't worth half of what he wants.  He is always hurt and gets stupid penalities.  He is extreemely overrated.

1.) Fire Reid and Marty
2.) Cut Coleman and Babin, promote Graham and Curry and draft a new legit safety
3.) Start Foles and see what you have with him.  If he can't play then draft QB in round 1.  Vick is leaving at end of year why not think for the future now.
4.) Rebuild Oline and bring back Castillo as Oline coach.  Target two additions in the draft and keep watkins as a backup.  Focus on drafting legit right guard.
5.) Ditch wide 9.

Not entirely on topic, but there is no one I actually like on the team. See it as whos jersey would I want to own.

The only real standouts are mccoy, and Peters but god knows how Peters will play on his return and I’ve just never really taken to McCoy.

I like desean’s speed, but he is a one trick pony and hurts the team in the redzone.

I liked Celek’s toughness and trucking people in YaC, but last night he was awful… hopefully just a bad game.

There isn’t really anyone on Defense I like. Cole has always been over rated by the board, imo. 10 sacks is not that impressive anymore, just like 1000 yards isn’t 4 players have 9 sacks already, and one has 10.5 17 players had 10 sacks last year, 20 the year before, 14 the year before. He always disappears in the 2nd half of the season and has 1.5 sacks in 7 playoff games.

Demeco has potential to be liked but he doesn’t inspire the vigour in me which trotter did. He’s only been here for 7 games, so hard to “like” him that much.

If getting a great QB, WR, or DE and getting someone else means getting rid of a RB, then absolutely.  You can call it retarded all you want.  Rodgers, Brees, Eli, Peyton, Big Ben, and Brady have Super Bowls.  Shady, Peterson, and MJD don't.
