Mr. Lurie,
I am writing to you to let you know that I have been a fan of the Eagles since 1980. Never, even during some downtrodden seasons worse than this one, have I felt like the season was over halfway through. 3-5 has occured before, and success has been built out of such slow starts in the past.
HOWEVER sir, this is different, and anyone watching for the last 13 years of the current regime can see that the time has come to stop this bleeding while the season could still be saved.
Coach Reid has lost this team.
I'm sure no one feels great about firing a coach mid-season, but in this case, you may be doing him and YOUR TEAM a solid. Andy has always been over his head with clock management and some other gameday areas, but now, this whole team is in complete disarray.
..and as much as PLAYERS NEED to tackle for Christ Sake....and block like they have some pride.... the underlying theme here is the same...ANDY is asleep at the wheel of his Porsche and it's time to send him on his way. Not January, NOW.
Current Issues:
- firing coordinators who should never have been hired for their positions in the first place
(I'm sorry...but hasnt the secondary looked like crap ALL year...and yet Todd Bowles gets promoted to run the whole "D"?)......MINDLESS
-NOT firing the coordinators who clearly should shoulder blame here.....
(I'm tired of the MM playcalling...does he understand down and distance should alter play calling? Sure some 3rd and 1 throws are cool....but make sure you have mastered getting the yard on the ground...so the defense is actually forced to ask...run or pass?)
-the OFFENSIVE...offensive LINE
(Sure maybe the OL falls on Mudd....but ultimately..any assistant coaches failings fall on the HC. AND ANDY compounds the OL issues by not even dressing an adequate amount of backups in the event of injuries. If Cullen Jenkins or any other DL ends up playing OL....Andy should be fired before the game is over....it's shameful and a disgrace that he isnt smart enough to know 2 backups is inadequate.
-the not so DEFENSIVE...DEFENSIVE LINE...
(send Mr. Washburn back to Tennessee. The wide 9 sucks....it's making our playmakers on that line look useless and incapable...and we KNOW this isnt the case. Perhaps we should have questioned if Washburn would be a good fit after he got such ringing endorsements from some of his high quality/high character former players (haynesworth loves him....STRIKE ONE)
-PERSONNEL
(No more picks for Andy and no more decision making for Howie. You guys dont get it. Undersized defenders get abused, project players rarely pan out....and now you have shown repeated weakness in evaluating your veterans. Good job keeping Asomugha and his monster deal over Asante'. Brilliant move. What was even better, letting the entire league know Asante was persona non grata in Philly...and de-valuing him to the point where you ONLY got a 7th round pick for a Pro-Bowl Corner. Idiots. Should have kept Asante' and sent that overpriced Asomugha elsewhere while he still had value....whats his value now? 7th round pick...right?
Other personnel misses:
-Winston Justice (better than what you replace him with)
-Brian Dawkins (was your defenses heart and soul....30 y/o or not)
-David Akers (still cant believe ya tossed him under the bus)
-Sheldon Brown (best corner we've had....dealt to CLE for cookies and ice cream)
In closing, I will surely continue to watch the season unfold, even though this one feels over, I know theres half a season left. But for the first time in my 30+ years of Eagle fanboy status..... I don't expect, hope for, or see any light at the end of the tunnel.
You better hope that there arent alot more of ME out there....I'm a glutton for punishment and will not quit on the team regardless...but how many will?
Good bye Andy...please take Marty and start preparing to coach the Redskins or Cowboys. Much like McNabb- we'd like you to stay in the division please.
TIME IS FINALLY YOURS (cause we are done listening anyway)

Jeff Lurie doesn't care. He's currently in Belgium with Al Gore and 5 prostitutes wondering how to celebrate Obama's election and if he can make a green powered airplane to fly him back to Philly in January so he can ask Reid how things are going.

Mr. Jeffrey Lurie,
When you cam to Philadelphia, you replaced the worst owner in Eagles History, Norman Braman. Braman went on local television just prior to you buying the team and stated that he was never interested in winning a championship, but was only interested in making money, and further stated that he made a lot of it as the Eagles owner.
You arrived here, after a failed attempt to purchase the New England Patriots and admitted that you were a life long Patriots fan. You then assured our fan base that as the Eagles owner, you would put the Eagles first, and we accepted your statement as the truth, and gave you our full support. You then spoke of your goals, and that your primary goal was not to win a championship, but to win multiple championships, and we accepted your statement as the truth, and continued to give you our support.
You realized Kotite wasn't the answer and we supported you. You realized Rhodes wasn't the answer and we supported you. You stated 8-8 wouldn't be good enough this year for Reid to keep his job. I accept that statement as the truth, and when the 8th loss happens, the decision must be made, and I will offer you my support.
The only request this fan has, is please, please build your football club the right way. before you do anything else, identify the very best GM alive and spend whatever it takes to bring him in. He must be a supremely adept judge of talent among coaches, players, and personnel people. Put him in charge of football operations and stand back ,because he will make reaching your stated primary goal possible.
Do that, and I will accept that you are not a transplanted Patriots fan who happens to own the Eagles.....I will accept that you are cut from a different cloth than Norman Braman....I will support you as we move forward through what will obviously be a difficult few years.
Choose not to do that......and I'll know who and what you are,,,,Norman Braman Lite.
Please do the right thing....I know you can.
signed: A nearly 50 year old fan who hasn't experienced a championship in my lifetime.

Lurie really could care less as long as he is making his money. We got to hit him where it hurts most. Stop going to the games, stop buying the merchandise, etc. Maybe then he will realize a change is needed.
