Dave, I love to listen to you. And i agree with you most of the time. HOWEVER, STOP WITH THE WE NEED TO WIN 6 OR 7 OF 8!!!

How can you rationally say that???? They can't get in the endzone once in 5 attempts against THE WORST DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE!!!!

First things first, they have to learn how to execute a scoring drive. Secondly, if they are successful at scoring a TD, stop the opposing offense to score. After that, execute another scoring drive. Wins dave??? I just want them to take a lead and score points in all four quarters!!! They can't do this, and you can sputter out "win 6 of 8"...

How about this, we need to kneel, pray and practice to beat the Cowboys.

I don't see a win anytime soon or an above .500 season. "super bowl" "playoffs" "postseason" and "wildcard" should never be used until they actually have an above .500 season and have CLINCHED the division.

I will continue to listen/watch Eagles LIVE everyday...

Fly Eagles Fly...

It's far more likely that they'll lose 6 or 7 of 8.

This team and coaching staff is a clear representation of Andy Reid, the HC and VP of football operations.......this is his vision at work. It's sad that he was wrong.....maybe the next guy will be right.

They may still get to 8-8 - the schedule is pretty much a cupcake from here out.    Whether they do or don't, what we are seeing is the inevitable result of the slow deterioration of the product here over the last eight years - we had some illusions that led to the hope (by some) that it was being turned around, and also led to bringing in the mercenaries that make up a chunk of the current roster.

Reid said himself more than a decade ago, when he still had a semblance of a vision and plan, that you "build through the draft, and from the lines out".    Look at this group, and it tells you how far off the reservation Lurie has allowed this thing to get. It can't be overstated what a terrible mistake it was not to cut the cord when he had the chance last off season - it will just be a bigger mess after this year.

We should have seen this coming - it was that predictable, when you take into account the irrational decisions at vital spots (Castillo, Wide 9, Vick, etc.), and the fact that you just don't win in this league if you can't draft. Problem is, we (myself included) have become so conditioned to this guy pulling seasons out of hi a** to "save" himself, that it was logical to believe he might do it again.

Lurie had better not make the same mistake again, regardless of this year's result.    If he does, the downward spiral will just be that much more extended.

They may get to 8-8 or even 10-6 given their schedule, but the Eagles are the cupcakes at this point. Losing 4 in a row and getting blown out the last two without putting up a fight.   Every game is at best a toss-up and right now this team is no better than any team in the NFL except the Jags.  Things can still turn around but only a fool would believe it will happen.

Lurie was on the hook this year for a lot of money to Vick, Nnamdi, Babbin, and certainly Reid.  The team was built and everyone had high aspirations.  They were "all-in" and hoped that last year was the anomoly.  This year was their last shot under the status-quo.  I don't fault Lurie for letting this play out from a football or a business perspective. Clearly things have just blown up in everyones face but even with the benefit of hindsight, I think Lurie went about things correctly.  At the end of this season he can clear a ton of cap space and make wholesale changes.

Fair enough, and given that I am on record saying it should have been in 2007, last year or this year is actually fairly moot.

My fear is a run, given the schedule, to 9-7, allowing Lurie an out for keeping this travesty going.       This is a bad conference, so anything is possible, but I would tend to agree that it is remote.

Just an aside, but man, has this whole league become pathetically mediocre.       There are 3-4 good teams, 5-6 decent ones, and a ton of dreck.    They wanted parity, and they got lousy instead.       Damn shame - this is the greatest sport, and they're destroying it piece by piece.

Given the schedule ?  This team isn't better than any other team in the league except for the Jags.  Lurie isn't looking for an out and he isn't going to risk his own credibility and reputation by allowing this to continue.

I just want to win one of one, and I'm trying to focus on that rather than talking about the playoffs. Sometimes I slip up. What can I say? These are very, very tough times. I'm eager to get a win. Dying to get a win. Need a win more than anything ...

This season is quickly becoming a highlight reel of giving games away....fumbles and interceptions in the Red Zone have paralyzed this team , along with our offensive line....I'm still hoping we can figure it all out....but ...it's not looking good ....regardless....I'm an Eagles fan and will support this team no matter what!!!!.......FLY EAGLES FLY!!!

Most seasons, with most teams, that would be the case, Dave.

I would not expect you to say anything else, but this team, and franchise, is way beyond needing simply a win. What we need is to be cleansed of the dreck that has created the mediocre mess Lurie has allowed the Eagles to become.   We need a fresh, new outlook and vision.

When all it is about is "saving" the job of a coach who has been here fourteen years without winning a championship, it is pretty clear it is time to blow the thing up, while there is still some young talent to rebuild and maybe compete immediately with, given the right choices at coach and GM.

I want a new direction..... one that points towards actually winning a Superbowl. Knowing that is step number 1007 and we haven't even reached STEP 1 yet, I would settle for the first step.. which is we need to turn over the coaching staff, rip this team apart, FIND a core foundation and build off of that.

The CORE foundation.... worth keeping here...

Shady
Avant
D Ryans
DRC
J. Peters
Herremans

Possible keepers:
Foles
Bryce Brown
Jackson
Cox
Kendricks
Kelce
Patterson

Figure in two years with the righ moves and the right staff.... we can build off of this core. Maybe we can be competetive in 2 years

1 win does NOTHING absolutely NOTHING for me... in fact losing would be better at this point, we need GOOD players.. and alot of them, The lower the draft position, possibly the better... though we still screw THAT up

I agree totally.  Obviously, Dave needs to support the team and hope for a win.  But this is what we went through last year and too many people didn't listen.  They'd win one game and some people would say "See!  Where are the haters now?" and crap like that.  One win won't mean anything.  They could go 9-7 or even 10-6 based on the weaker teams they're playing IF they get their act together.......and they will still lose in the 1st round and the team will keep going nowhere.

The only solution is to get rid of Reid.  Respect to him for bringing success in his early years and I do like some things about him.  It's just beyond time.  He needs a break for himself too.  So much family drama, stressful city to coach in.  Take a few years off and go on lots of vacations with your money and enjoy family time.  Then come back fresh with a new team.

Some ESPN radio guys (do'nt know if it was Mike and Mike or not) were talking about this, that the new trend in the NFL will be to not let coaches stay this long.  That you'll never see a 12, 13, 14 year coach again because things change, coaches visions get stale and predictable, etc.

One win does nothing for this franchise - I know you can't admit and work this way but unless you blow up this entire coaching and front office staff your franchise will be lost.  Lurie has already done the impossible and make this city either angry or not care about this team.
