Surely Graham stars at LDE and Babin leaves, I still think Graham will become a very good end.

Cox starts at DT I assume.

Who plays alongside him? Surely we won't draft another guy in an early round at DT, so Thornton? Landri? Anyone becoming available in free agency?

I'd like to say Curry at RDE, but honestly, he can't be doing a lot in training camp to even get active atm which doesn't say a lot. Hopefully he isn't a bust and can play a bit next year. Do we keep Trent Cole? I used to love him but the heart seems to have gone, when he missed that sack on Brees early yesterday he didn't even get a hand on him, that would have given us a good start and some confidence.

my two cents - our front four will be graham / cox / patterson / curry

i honestly think curry will not be a bust. we just havent seen him. the coaches havent given him a chance yet, so i dont think its fair to say that he's not doing a lot.

Doubt there's money for good free agents. It'll take a bug toll on us if Vick, Cole, Babin, Nnamdi, are released. That money doesn't just disappear it is paid to them

I think it also depends on the coaching staff that hopefully comes in.

Just because Cole is having an unproductive season everyone is ready to give up on him? He needs to stick around because I guarantee he will bounce back whether its with the eagles or another team.

I loved it when cole had a free rush at brees, who promptly shoulder faked him and threw a 20 yard completion.

COLEZZZZZZ.

I think the bigger question is who will be coaching the D-line next year

Vick's cap hit would be $7.2m if he's cut.
Cole would be $6.4m..
Babin $600k.
Nnamdi $4m.

Would really only make sense that due to $ Babin is the only likely one to go.  Any new coach/staff is going to have these guys through next season.  Then it opens up more in 2014.

Tapp and Landri are both UFAs after this season - neither has played their way into a new contract IMO.

Have to figure a new coaching staff is in place, so it is hard to determine what kind of system they'll be running and what kind of personnel best fits their system.  Hopefully no more of these "gimmicky" schemes (wide 9 DL, whatever fancy scheme Mudd uses) - just play traditional, hard-nosed, smash-mouth football - bigger, stronger linemen on both sides of the ball (no more smaller, faster speedballs).

Cole we still be here because of that massive extension he signed this offseason.
Cole-Cox-Patterson (maybe Jenkins stays)-Curry or Hunt

I think it is pretty obvious that Jenkins, Tapp and Babin are gone. Cole, Hunt, Graham and Curry are the defensive ends, Cox, Thornton and Patterson are the tackles along with a random sub if Landri isn't re-signed.

The Eagles can use the savings to upgrade the other positions (safety, linebacker.)

I would like them to get Curry onto the field so we can get a look on him. Hunt, preseason wonder , bid him goodbye. Tapp is gone because of cash, same with Babin. Cole and Graham probably stay because of the contract in Coles place and Graham has shown enough to be a back up if nothing else. Tackles, Cox ,maybe Patterson. Everybody else throw into a garbage bag and pick 2 for training cap fodder.

Are you sure that's the cap hit for Vick?  2012 was virtually his last year in Philly if he didn't produce so I doubt very seriously Eagles would be willing to take that high of a hit by cutting him...I know he is due a bonus right after the season is over too.

As far as our Dline next year... Cole - Jenkins - Cox - ??
Didn't Jenkins restructure this year?

That is wrong Vick is only owed about 1 million dollars after this season.

Babin has got to go!  Cole, Curry, Graham & Hunt at DE next year.  Thorton and Cox are the only for sure DT I have coming back.  I think either Jenkins or Patterson will be brought back too but I don't see both.

Graham, Cox, Patteron and Cole....now if Curry were to start to get some snaps and show that he can be just as good as Cole has been this year, I could see us letting Cole go to free up more cash. Cole has been great for us but as someone mentioned above, That move Brees put on Cole was sick, Cole should have had a sack or at least disrupted that throw.

Even though some don't want to admit it because the loyalty to Cole is strong but Cole might be starting his decent into age. If their is any veteran on the line right now that can turn it around its Cole.

I got it from BJ's page

http://www.eaglescap...ichaelVick.html

Logic would tell you that there's more then $1m to clean up on a $100m contract signed three years ago
