I'm curious who will make the decision on the next head coach.  I know it will be a group process (to some extent) and Lurie will have the final say, but does Roseman answer to Smolinski on these types of things or vice versa?

Also, this is a serious question...is there a problem with the left half of Reid's face?  I swear it look paralyzed last week and it was very pronounced after the Monday night game, as well.

to me, this one is all on Jeffrey Lurie. He needs to totally invest in identifying and bringing in a top football guy as the GM, who will in turn decide on hiring the coaches, etc. i have no confidence in Howie Roseman in this regard. He should be the capologist for the team, but answer to the real GM.

Lurie said at last year's PC after the season that he has advisors that are not Eagles execs. Former front office execs from other teams he respects that help advise him.

When they hired Reid it was just as head coach, he was then promoted to also be VP of Football Operations.  So he was basically the top guy.  The next coach will obviously just be head coach so the decision makers will be Roseman and...?  Hmm.

I'm not nearly as confident he even gets fired. We've seen situations like this before and Reid goes on miracle late season runs and saves his job. Admittedly, this team is extra unwatchable than years past from top to bottom so maybe Reid finally goes. But even with a losing season I don't have a lot of faith in Lurie. He's talked tough, but I watched him talk tough after last season's debacle right before he went on to praise Reid as a coach and commit to him all over again.

I have heard that Jeffrey has already cancelled New Years Eve party plans so that he can schedule a Press Conference for 2PM on New Years Eve to announce Reid's firing with the hope that the Press will not want to show up

I imagine it will be just Lurie making this decision.  Granted, he'll have some input from other advisors 'outside the org'.  But good lord, Roseman should have freakin' no say in a decision like this one.  NO WAY.

Howie needs to go back to being a Cap Guy.  And that's it.

Smolinski isn't handeling anything directly related with the team. He's in charge of stadium issues, working with team sponsors, and overseeing their charities I think. Business things not directly related to the product on the field.

I have the same fear, even though it's hard to imagine that we're not seeing the pathetic finale that could have been so easily avoided had it happened a few years ago, when it should have.

The reason you have the same fear is because Highboy read your prior posts and posted them as his opinions.  I am sure he doesn't even realize he did it because he is so devoid of any independent rational thoughts.

I realize I don't have a guy like Op jerking me off in every thread like you but yes, "we". Just because you finally gave up and are finally resorting back to your old Eagle bashing self doesn't mean anyone has forgotten the shameless Reid leg humping you've been engaged in since 2010.

I won't answer questions at this point about the future beyond the season. It's not fair to me, guys. I have no answers. Clearly, though, Jeffrey is the owner of the team and he makes the decisions. From whom he gets advice and makes decisions, I do not know.

I would say his accountant has the biggest say for Lurie because once again with no OL we are significantly under the cap. Perhaps the other minority owner will have more to say this year.
