This could happen.  So could a lot of things, such as Gruden going to Dallas or going to another team.  The Eagles could sign another coach.  The Eagles could keep Reid.  The Eagles could also hire RTR as the next head coach.

It's about Jon, not Jay for those who care.

Not exactly the guy I want, but change is a good thing if AR is out. I'd just like to see a new style to the Eagles. This system is old and doesn't adapt well anymore.

I don't care what Eskins or anyone else "says" or believes I think it's a complete pipe dream to think Gruden will give up the chush job he has at ESPN.  I know some wiill say he's jonesin for a chance to get back to the NFL but i don't see it and I'm guessing my opinion on this is just about as worthy to consider as any so called media know it all.

I really can't see Gruden being successful here. This isn't the 2002 Bucs. The only former HC I'd be interested in in Payton, as unlikely as that is.

I'm sure Lurie leaked to Eskin or someone that Gruden is the man, when Reid still holds the position with half a season to play.  C'mon man ... think.

I know Eskin isnt the more reliable source but the fanatic ( i am not saying they are bible either but they usually try and discredit anything Eskin is attached to)  is reporting that Gruden is thinking of coming back to coaching and he has contacted Juan castillo. Take that for what its worth

  And all of DE's would be 6' 7" + 350 LB's in RTR's "new" 4/3, first one we get is Ray Edwards via trade, his big a** is tearing it up in Atlanta

Gruden was "traded" to Tampa Bay in 2002 and won a SB in his first season. (some, including Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks, say it was Dungys team that won) But from 2002 until 2008 Gruden never won ONE playoff game. In fact I don't even think they scored over 10 points in the two wild card games they played in.

So, it doesn't seem to me he would be an upgrade. No thanks.

Although, he does make angry faces and talks it up tough on MNF, i guess that makes him cool?

this.

I don't really want gruden. i dont think he is as good as people believe. he won a super bowl with dungy's players. granted he got them over the hump but after winning that super bowl tampa basically did absolutely nothing! i would much rather go after a big name that I believe can get it turned around for the long haul. i believe gruden works for a2-3 years then his style gets old and his drafts begin to get bad

Dewayne White, Michael Clayton, Davin Joseph, and Gaines Adams were all first day picks that busted.

highly doubt gruden wants to be jerry jones puppet. id be very excited to have gruden as a HC. everyone wants a no name defensive coach. id rather have an offensive HC and good dcord.

Marquis Cooper LB was 2nd rd pick (bust), Caddy Williams was good for one year IIRC then was injured to death

IIRC that team had a lot of players there, Gruden just made Gannon better, like Brad Johnson, after he wins the SB what does he do, run Johnson out of Tampa for a cornicopia of QB's either drafted or FA's and even Jake Plummer who retired rather than playing in Tampa
