Eagles cornerback Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie said the word around the league on the Birds' defense is “y’all guys are talented, but y’all don’t wanna hit nobody.”
Rodgers-Cromartie says the defense has to go out and show the “want to” to disprove that notion. “Until you fix it, it’s always going to show itself,” he said. “Everybody looks at us as a ‘pretty’ defense that don’t wanna be physical. We gotta go out and make a name for ourselves.”
“We just gotta get that focus in and come together as one,” he said.

Ironic considering the fact I see him more than any other player avoiding tackles. Maybe he should watch the tape and see that

Nnamdi doesn't refuse to tackle.  He's just been bad at it.  He got run over like 3 times on Monday night because he was trying to tackle, but just got plowed through and didn't wrap up tight enough.

DRC is a little worse.  He seems more hesistant.  Neither seem quite as bad as Asante during his time here though.  He'd always be standing a couple yards away from the ball carrier, sort of waiting for other guys to drag the guy down.

Regardless, I like the DRC is at least acknowledging they have a problem and he sounds embarassed.  If he's got any pride, he'll try harder himself.  Hopefully some others do too.

This thread is absolutely right. Cromartie and nnamdi are probably the worst two players on ths team when it comes to tackling. Truly bad for a professional football player. Makes things even worse when they don't do well on pass coverage. Then you add Coleman to the mix and he is either riding on the back trying to make a tackle or simply whiffs. For those who think DRC will change it won't happen. I live in Phoenix and when he was with the Cardinals the fans really gave it to him.

Why you writing in HUGE font?
CB's being the weak link as far as tackling should be no surprise. Yes some CB's tackle remarkably well, but CB's are the smallest players on a Defense. Common sense should tell you to run at them.

The tampa 2 CB's like Barber in his prime, Tilman on the Bears, in fact, it's part of that scheme, not just cover , but  play the run

I love Tilman. Dude strips the ball at every chance. Just like BDawk. I used to crack up when Dawk would be punching at the ball and he hitting people in the chest, stomach, arms etc. Dudes a BEAST!! I like what Seattle has done with their CB's. All big and tall physical corners. Then over the top K. Chancellor is a hitting machine and E.Thomas has good speed and pretty decent ball skills.

if you cant tackle, or wont tackle, you have no business playing defense.

As I've said before, it's like everyone on defense are playing with two broken arms.   They will throw their body at someone without wrapping up,  or run around them without grabbing hold.   It's hilariously sad to watch.

DRC is the Kurt Coleman of corners, most overrated TATE player ever.  No wonder Arizona dumped him.

I've seen more arm tackle attempts from him and DRC ...

Shouldn't need to be taught the fundamentals of tackling at this level.

I know it's too late, and they need to show it on the field, but this is the first media statement an Eagle has said this season that hasn't pissed me off.  DRC is actually holding himself and the defense accountable, rather than blaming it on the media or the fans.

The rest of the league has been seeing what eagles fans have for years now. The veil has been removed and people are no longer framing comversations about the eagles in the context of reids early years going to the NFCCG. That is well in the past.

DRC is a good corner. There is a lot of talent on the team. They are lost, unconfident, undisciplined and falling apart.  Everyone knows Reid is on the way out.
