Where I Stand...

Forget about a wildcard. I just don't think it is happening. GB/CHI will get one and another team will get the other. Its all about winning the division. The Eagles have 2 more losses than the Giants. So we basically need to makeup 2 games on them. We play them the last week of the season so we can control one of their losses (we always play the Giants well so don't ask me what I am smoking ok lol). So basically just counting the next 7 games we have to lose "1" less time than they do to make that game be for the division. Here are the schedules...
Eagles Schedule
Cowboys
Redskins
Panthers
Cowboys
Bucs
Bengals
Redskins
Giants Schedule
Bengals
Packers
Redskins
Saints
Falcons
Ravens
Conclusion
Again nothing from what the Eagles have shown as of late tells me regardless of the cupcake schedule we have left, that we can pull it off. But after comparing the schedules... If all we have to do is be 1 game better to make the last game be for the division? Well... It is def doable, very doable actually. I can see the Giants losing 3 of those games. Which mean we could even afford to lose 2 (can't afford to lose against the Boys both times though). But will the Eagles do it? That's the question that we will soon know the answer to...

To me, I have a slight ray of hope that we can go on a run but about 95% of me says we are done. I just cant get over how bad the offensive line is right now. I know there is 4 backups in there but they are horrible. I've seen better high school lines.

If the Giants are 7-7 or 8-6 we've got a chance. They go 4-2 over the next 6 and we're pretty much done though. No way this team rattles off 8 straight wins. We need the Giants to lose half of their next six games...

I like how you play both side of the fence on this. Saying you mathematically haven't lost hope is pointless. Since no team has officially been eliminated from playoff contention, all of them have mathematical hope of making the postseason. Then you go on to say that this team has done nothing to show they can do what they need to do to make the playoffs.
The fact that you didn't make this another Vick defense thread is appreciated however.

The 3 things that give the Eagles the SLIGHTEST chance is:
1 - Reid has had GREAT success in the 2nd half of the season.
2 - the Giants also have endless problems and right now are not playing very good either.
3 - the entire NFL sucks. To me, the SB winner will simply be the best team of 32 terrible teams. I personally have never seen such a bad product from the NFL and all 32 teams. And this has been going on now for about 3-4 years.
A total disgrace the current product in the NFL currently.

Giants are 6-4. Eagles could be 4-6. If the Giants lose to Green Bay (NY will be coming off a bye, though), Atlanta, and New Orleans, with wins against Washington and Baltimore, they'll be 8-7 heading into the last game with the Eagles. If the Eagles can go 6-0 in the division, they'll have a damn good shot at making the playoffs. I think the Giants are getting decimated in the passing game and against max protections. Atlanta, New Orleans, Green Bay, and Baltimore are all in the top half of the league in passing yards per game (entering this week, anyway; Baltimore just went OFF for 341 passing yards so they'll almost certainly climb; with Green Bay being on a bye, all of these teams may end up in the top TWELVE!). The Giants are no longer a shoe-in to win this thing.
It has to start right now for the Eagles. They need to win right now against Dallas. The winner will have a clear advantage going against the Giants down the stretch.

I have to disagree. I dont think it's that all 32 teams are bad products. Unlike the NBA, where you have the same top teams that are good every year, the NFL is different. There is so much talent spread out throughout the league. With the exception of Jacksonville, I can honestly see any team winning. I think that a huge majority of the NFL teams, 31 of 32, are just highly competitive.
