That was a pretty good game on his part.  He made maybe 3 bad throws, but other than that he passed for 220 yards and a TD being thrust into a game halfway through.  He looked poised, made overall good decisions, made plays out of nowhere.  The one pick was 100% Jacksons fault and the fumble was the offensive line's.  Despite Andy Reid running the ball 19 times (not including Vick's 3 rushes) when the eagles had a backup rookie QB and were only down by a TD, Foles played real well.

On another note, Reid should really be fired immediately and they should hold an open tryout for duncrap's spot on the offensive line.  It really speaks for how awful Bell is that Duncrap originally beat him out for the starting LT spot.

The balls were thrown behind on purpose, because that was the only space the balls could be fit into. Ever hear of a back shoulder throw? That is thrown behind. Same thing essentially. If the defender is covering your front side, you may have to throw it behind. Foles was ridiculously accurate.

yeah you have no idea what you are saying.  he hit 66% of his passes, thats accurate.  vick hasnt hit that all year.

Besides Foles was coming in cold in the first game of his career. Vick has had 10+ pro years and still basically is average at pass a QB. Now that his speed has diminished he's been totally exposed

Anyway, I'm a Vick fan and I feel terrible for him but we need to see what we have with Foles. The season is shot. If he sucks, we can bring in a veteran quarterback in the offseason to temporarily be our QB before drafting one in 2014.

I don't want anything to do with the QBs coming out now.

Not only should Foles start, but the Eagles should be playing a lot of other youngsters as well. How about the backup corners? Getting them experience could make it easier to decide if Nnamdi is worth keeping and DRC is worth a new contract. How about benching Bell and Dunlap and seeing if some younger players have any promise? Maybe this way the team could determine which of their projects can actually play the game and which ones need to go.

How about Philip Thomas getting some time at safety? We know what (little) Coleman brings to the table. Let's see if there can be an upgrade. If nothing else, Vinny Curry should see the field a lot for the rest of the season.

The way I see it, this team has some key decisions to make next year at quarterback and cornerback, and should be using the rest of this season to gather as much info as possible to make those decisions easier. They also have to realize that Bell and Dunlap are not backups, and find two guys who can at least play the position at a level of competency that justifies receiving an NFL salary.

Bryce Brown, Dion Lewis and Polk can get the majority of carries at running back and save Shady from a beating that he doesn't deserve.

That's something that needs to be incorporated. A lot of good offenses have their QBs throw back shoulder throws, but the Eagles do not. He threw some bad passes but he was accurate for the most part.

Of course I don't, I don't play in the NFL. But Foles does, and he does throw slants behind them. He is Nick Fing Foles and he does what he pleases. He plays QB his own way and he is great because of it.

This is the reason that you shouldn't think to begin with. How do you explain your boy Vick averaging 13 points a game with 10 years, yet the kid put up 23 in a little more than half a game behind the same line?

People in Minnesota are calling for him to start next year. Say what you want about Vick but he would be a hell of an upgrade over Ponder. What a bust. This is why I don't like drafting QBs in the first round.

Foles in one game did what Vick could only do 2 times all year out of 9 starts. LOL

Vick is so good he lost 5 games in a row he started in, he was losing when the concussion hit.

Foles did pretty well I thought for having no practice and not playing in a real game.  He made some nice throws, read the defense, and stood tall in the pocket.  He made a few bad throws but that is expected.  If our receivers weren't scared of taking a hit there would have been several other completions instead of incompletions.

We get it you hate Foles cause he is white but that wont make Vick play QB any better.  Remember nobody benched Vick, he got hurt.  If Foles doesnt go in, who does?

Vick starting somewhere pending injury to that teams real starter is laughable.  Russell Wilson, Tannenhill, Luck, RG3, all better than Vick and they are rookies.

The season is over, that much is clear.

Andy Reid (8-8 or worse) and Mike Vick (contract too big) are both gone after this season, that much is also clear.

The next GM and Head Coach need to find out if Foles can develop over the rest of the season, or if not, then they know they need a new QB to be the starter next season.

The draft does NOT have a top QB prospect this coming April....sadly.

At this point, figuring out what Foles is at QB is the #1 priority, so, yes, he should play the rest of the season.

If that means 3-13....so be it, but they must know going into the off-season, exactly where they stand at the QB position.
