I know he's just a rookie but he takes too many chances throwing the ball into coverage. He only had one pick but he easily could have had 3-4.

I think I would let him start the rest of the year.   Vick has to go.   It is time for a new coaching staff.   Might as well get some field time and film on Foles so the new coaching staff can decide if they need to find a QB.    For all that went wrong against Dallas today, Foles played okay.   He needs some time in live action.

Replace Foles with Eli Manning and the sentence is still valid. In any case he just played in game 1 cold.  We'll see. I'm not at all saying Foles is Manning BTW just that Manning does what you described

Agree, but he's going to have some growing pains.

Hopefully, we find out what we have.

Foles is a rookie and he had no first string reps.  The kid is going to make everyone nervous because this is his first NFL action.  I saw some really good things and some things he has to work on. The outcome was pretty much what I expected.

Yep, it was his first game and he played like a rookie. He honestly wasn't any worse than Vick has been this year anyway.

That duck he threw to Maclin was scary. Can't believe that didn't get picked off.

All things considered he played pretty well.  You figure he took all the second team reps during the week combined with the fact that he is a rookie with very little experience.  He played about as well as you would expect with the offensive line.  He was frequently running for his life and getting killed on various plays.

I want Vick to be out for a while. Reid already said Vick is the starter when he's healthy. I would love to see how Foles progresses; only problem is if he doesn't progress at all, this years QB's in the draft is pretty weak. I'm not sold on Barkley and I don't think Geno Smith is an NFL QB.

I would be alot happier if we had someone other then Marty or Andy calling the plays for Foles if we are going to start him the rest of the way.  They are going to get him killed.

he looked decent for not having any first team reps... just think he can only get better right now.. starting the rest of the year will only help him at this point.. even with the offensive line he has, but assuming we could get Lewan or Joeckel in the draft he'll go into next year with a completely healthy line

He should have just thrown it away.

Foles played pretty good for a rookie playing in his 1st game with no experience and no practice reps with the 1st team.  Don't forget, Dallas is pretty good on defense.  He played about as well as Vick would have.......problem is he's a rookie and Vick has played for 10 years.  The season is done so just play Foles and see what you got in him.

OP says Foles makes him nervous??  Vick makes me nervous.

The timing on slant routes can be fixed with work with the first stringers.  The slant passes were a little behind, but I think reps will help there.   Foles should've looked before throwing that screen pass though.  That was a bad rookie mistake that I have seen many rookies make.  The OL is still a mess. It's too bad that we can't see Foles with a better OL to get a better evaluation.  Bell and Dunlap need to go.  I'd be for cutting Bell tomorrow.

Now that Foles has proven he has a better pocket awareness than Vick I have no problem playing him the rest of the way. Foles' performance today was statistically on par with Vick but it was the intangibles that separated him in my book. Making calls at the line, downfield vision, patience. All things that Vick utterly lacks.

Now if we can just get some play calling and game management that isnt atrocious we should be good. There is absolutely no reason, besides Andy putting himself before the team, to see Vick any more this season.

Foles is a fiery gunslinger baby. Brett Favre 2.0 at best maybe? We shall see.

does he make you any more nervous than a qb who cant hold on to the ball, cant read a defense, cant throw accurately, cant slide, cant run anymore, cant go through his progressions.  i could probably go on but you get the point.  Vick is awful and needs to go.

He was confident, has a good pass and can hit a WR in a route.  Did anyone else notice that there were less plays with him on his a** unlike with Vick who is harassed all game...O line didn't just start blocking longer.  The Int to DJ was on DJ.  That ball hit him right in the hands. Id rather lose with him learning than to go through Vick losing when he is supposed to be the most athletic player on the field.  Losing doesn't feel so bad when you know hes learning from mistakes.

I thought that the defense and offense both picked up the intensity after Vick went down.  The WRs started playing harder and the defense started tackling.  I'm not saying Foles caused that, but I wonder if the team was really frustrated with Vick and all the turnovers.

Whoa,   I thought this was the greatest thing the Eagles  could do.  Start Foles and everything would just be alright?  If Michael Vick had received that same play calling he received the Eagles would have won this game.  What you see with these coaches is what the F you get.  Please get Andy Reid Out of Philly.  The problem is NOT THE QB it's Andy Reid.

It really didn't matter what he said.  What ever he said it would have been the greatest words every spoken by a rookie Qb.   He lost to the Cowgirls after so many of you said how great he was going to be.

I agree that Reid needs to go but you're just embarrassing yourself with this Vick jock-riding. It's time to go Vick fan. Come back when Vick's new team plays the Eagles to reminisce.

many things were alright....how did they change the gameplan? we got down and foles had to throw a ton. We said the play of the oline would look dramatically improved under foles and it did. We said the receivers who have been getting open would actually get the ball thrown to them on time and they did. we said teams wouldn't be able to sit back and blitz every down like they do with vick and they couldn't. Foles put up 16 on dallas in 2 1/2 quarters. that is vick's average for ppg the entire season !! I think the part you are missing the most is foles is a rookie !!! He has plenty of room for improvement. What is the upside with vick? none !! you claim that your an eagles fan and don't care who is the qb.  Did the team not look much more exited and competitive the second vick left the game? You claim that no qb could play better than vick behind this dreadful oline right? Well a rookie in his nfl debut having no time spent with the starters just did. So ofcoarse ....it was the playcalling !!

Vick makes me nervous. Taking too many chances, throwing the ball into coverage, fumbling the ball...wait, who were we talking about again?

Umm, he came into the game trailing by 3 points IIRC and the game would have likely been tied up had it not been for the punt return TD.
