That is the question:

Would NBC pull the plug on the Eagles-Cowboys rematch and send that game on December 2 back to FOX?  I ask because that might be the one opportunity the NFL has to showcase Andrew Luck and the Colts, who play the Lions in Detroit that week.  Although NBC is likely to flex out Chargers-Jets in Week 16 on December 23, the Colts play the Chiefs and there is no way NBC would flex in a game involving one of the worst teams in the NFL then.  That's wny I think we may see the NFL flex Eagles-Cowboys out and replace it with Colts-Lions in order to showcase Luck.

Id say no way.

these two teams still get ratings no matter what.

The andy reid/ QB drama will be too much of a storyline

Jerry Jones is NFL royalty.

Plus the Cowboys will probably be in the running for the division still given their weak schedule and the Giants difficult one.

Under normal circumstances, I agree, however, as noted this is the one opportunity the NFL has to give Andrew Luck a prime time showcase, plus the NFL can turn around in week 16 and flex out Chargers-Jets (almost certainly to happen now) and replace that game with Saints-Cowboys, so the Cowboys would get that SNF appearance back three weeks later.

No way.........I'm already looking forward to that game.  Whether we are out of the playoff race or not, we better get some revenge for this game.

Plus the Cowboys likely would be flexed back into SNF on December 23 against the Saints, who may be on such a roll that they are 9-5 by the time that game takes place with both fighting for their playoff lives.

Nobody outside of Eagles fans, cares about Nick Foles. The reason why we got a plethora of primetime games and media coverage was because we had a lightning rod at QB

I think more Eagles fans will tune in to see Foles play. He's the big sensation and will bring a lot of people who may have stopped watching earlier in the season because of the crap performance. That's just my opinion.

Absolutely.  A lot of people also want to see Andrew Luck, who has the Colts right back where they were two years ago (though it should not be THAT big of a surprise given it is a Colts team that is only three years removed from being 14-0 and eventually getting to the Super Bowl as there are still a lot of players from those teams on the Colts).  It looks like based on the schedules 12/2 is the only opportunity for the NFL to put the Colts on in prime time to showcase Luck, whereas the Cowboys likely would be flexed back into Sunday Night Football three weeks later against Drew Brees and a Saints team that very possibly will be on such a roll that they will be truly back in the race for a wild card berth.  Since the Sunday Night game on 12/23 is currently Chargers-Jets, it is almost certain that game WILL be flexed out, so the NFL can flex the Cowboys out on 12/2 and put the Cowboys on SNF three weeks later on 12/23.

The cowboy ratings alone will carry the game along with the adios reid story, my thoughts are no, and actually with the schedule that the cowturds have and the way the Giants are playing Dallas might actually be in a playoff position

If the Eagles-Cowboys game is flexed out, I'd say Pitt-Baltimore has a better chance at that SNF game than does Indy-Detroit.

Probably not but it should be.  The Eagles don't deserve to be put on any primetime games the rest of the season.  Put teams more worthy.

If Eagles-Cowboys is flexed out, Cowboys might very well get flexed back in the following week against the Bengals in Cincinnati and again two weeks later against the Saints at home (when Chargers-Jets is almost certain to be flexed out).  It would be the Lions playing on SNF one week earlier since they would be flexed in against the Colts (replacing Eagles-Cowboys) but flexed out (against the Packers) the following week (for Cowboys-Bengals).

This is all about the likelihood of Dec. 2 being the only chance the NFL has of being able to flex a Colts game involving Andrew Luck into prime time.

If both teams are out of the playoff hunt, then yes. But if the Cowboys are still chasing the Giants I could see it staying on TV, based on the popularity of the two franchises.

I guess it's possible but I doubt it.  Eagles/Cowboys pulls one of the highest ratings of the year regardless of record.  Ratings is what it's all about with TV.  Indy/Detroit doesn't get ratings.  Now if it was Indy/Denver or Indy/NE or Indy/Pitt...then I'd say yes.

Dear NBC,

Please have mercy on Eagles fans around the country and yank this Eagles vs Cowboys game out of SNF. At the very least, such a move may potentially save the TVs of several angry Eagles fans from having to get kissed by flying remotes.

Sincerely,
A concerned Eagles fan

Again, this is all about Andrew Luck.  It may be the only chance the NFL has to give the Colts a prime time showcase because of the way the Colts and NFL Sunday night schedules after that (before week 17) play out.  Many people have yet to see Luck play as a pro, and he is a very hot commodity right now because of that.

NBC as noted could subsequently flex the Cowboys into SNF twice, a week later on December 9 against the Bengals and two weeks later against the Saints.  That's why I suspect they would flex out Eagles-Cowboys for Colts-Lions in order to give Andrew Luck and the Colts a prime time showcase and have the Cowboys on SNF two of the following three weeks.

not if foles plays well.  if we somehow beat the Redskins and Panthers it'll be the whole Foles turning the Eagles around/can the Cowboys finally end the Eagles' playoff hopes/can Foles get revenge for the Cowboys' win angle.

which is entirely possible because both the Redskins and Panthers are terrible and a semi-competent game on our parts should be enough to beat them.

NBC and the NFL have to make that decision 12 days ahead (except for Week 17, when it is six), meaning that unless Foles is HUGE against RGIII and the Redskins, the NFL may have to seriously consider pulling the plug on Eagles-Cowboys on SNF 12/2.  Since the Cowboys then are likely looking at being flexed in TWICE (12/9 against the Bengals and 12/23 against the Saints), I suspect the NFL will do that.
