Go local

Ray Didinger or Ron Jaworski - GM
Mike Mayock - head of scouting
keep Howie on as capologist

hire a hot coordinator or assistant coach or promising college head coach as next head coach

Neither Gruden or Cowher will be considered as hc.

from your list i'd love to see Jaws as GM and Mayock as head of scouting.... would be nice to get someone that actually knew how to evaluate players.

Ray Didinger would never become a GM, and Ron Jaworski is a loveable idiot (seriously, listen to any of his segments and tell me if you hear a single thing you and your mom didn't already know 5 years ago).

Howie's new boss.....the REAL General Manager....well, he will be given Reid's current title....Vice President of Football Operations....Howie will be a contract lawyer...that's what he is anyway....no more fantasy football on draft day for him!!!

Howie will be fired at the end of the year.  Didinger would never be a GM, thats ridiculous.  Mayock makes more money on TV.  GMs and scouts don't have to be household names.  Hire a coach and let him have input on front office moves.  Most veteran coaches will have a front office/GM that they would want to work with, then those two can fill out the staff together.  You don't want the owner picking GMs and scouts.

Quite a diverse range of opinions.

I think Lurie should hire a GM with a much stronger football pedigree (former player and/or; has a greater understanding of the players and their mindsets and backgrounds and/or; well studied in the history of the game and successful football strategies).  Next that GM should hire a coach whom he thinks is best able to implement winning football strategies and lead men to victory on and off the football field.  A capologist is essential to maximizing the financial flexibility of the team's player contracts.  You always want the team to be able to make decisions with players that put them in the best position to succeed both short term and long term.  Banner was very good at that and I'm assuming that Howie as an apprentice of Banner is superb at structuring win win contracts for both the team and the players.

I'm sure Lurie could attract the aforementioned professionals to his organization with appealing offers.

I don't think anyone who has a television career is seriously going to entertain the idea of coaching again. Their job is just too cushy.

I do think Jay Gruden would be a good candidate, though.

The number one name that makes me cringe is Bill Polian. The Colts were a one man team for years under him and he got way too much credit for Peyton's ability and Dungy's coaching.

I'd go with Vermeil as GM if he wants the job........I'd also go with Vermeil as HC if he wants the job.

Vermeil is a good choice too.  The question is he too happy making and selling wine and enjoying his family out west to lead the Eagles to success again.
