If Foles goes 6-1 or 5-2 and/or puts up excellent numbers in Reid's scheme, is that enough to justify keeping Andy for next year?

If Foles puts up 5-6 wins then was it the coaching all along? I'm for AR going but a coach doesn't magically get better half way through  the season.

When I say tremendous I mean pro bowl caliber play.

I think there could be a small chance that Reid stays if Foles plays like a pro bowler and finishes with a near perfect record.  The caveat would be Reid cleaning house and changing coordinators.  There's obviously a roster enema needed too but that will happen regardless of who is HC.

I will believe Reid is gone only when I see it. I assume nothing. We could not win another game and it would not shock me to see Reid back.

If Foles can lead the Eagles to a .500 record then Reid will come back...

Doesn't realy matter.   Andy Reid is a done deal..  Enough is enough and it's not going to happen..  Same Andy, bring in a rookie and continue to throw the ball.  He used to at least give the backup a chance.  He called the same plays he would call for a starter.  Great.   :nonono:

Better than 8-8 or fired. That was after the death of ARs son, after knowing the Oline was trash, after knowing the defense was inconsistent and Vick is turnover/injury prone and sticking with Vick for the longest. I don't think AR will keep his job unless it's better than 8-8.

I hope not. Vick sucks and he's been under Andy's wing for 2 years now.

Foles doesn't need Andy or Marty to become a good QB. He either IS or ISN'T.

Period.

The whole "Andy is a QB guru schtick" is total garbage. It's his system that is QB friendly, not his player-teaching skills. If he made good QBs, then why do they all SUCK after they leave here?

His system is old and obsolete. He hasn't won a playoff game since 2008. It's been 4 years since they won a playoff game and 7 years since they sniffed a Superbowl appearance.

Andy's system is broken and no longer applies in today's NFL.

Times yours.

Assuming Foles doesnt return punts, draw up redzone plays, run the ball, play Tackle, guard, center, weak side linebacker, CB, safety and punts im saying there is a better chance of the real santa clause showing up to my house this year.

Some of you guys think QB is the problem on this team it isnt.  Coaching is prob the biggest and most glaring problem.  In almost every major catagory the Eagles are at the bottom of the league, special teams, punt returns, offense, defense etc.

The problems on this team are going to solved by getting rid of Bobby April, Reid, Marty, Mudd, Washburn.  Then we have to pray for 2 straight knock out drafts to try to fix this Reid made disaster.

2 piss-poor decisions that led to 2 lost seasons:

hiring Castillo as DC
signing Vick as a franchise QB

Both have failed miserably - it is unacceptable to lose 2 entire seasons to such idiotic moves as those - he must be held accountable, regardless of what Foles shows, IMO.

Lurie isn't stupid ! He's had to see the fans leaving the stadium two weeks in a row now before the  game was concluded.
Do you honestly think he is going to jeopardize this fan base ( his livlihood) to keep Reid? This is a sport for fans. It is a business for Lurie.
Reid will be done at the end of this season. It makes no sense to fire him mid season as there is absolutely no on on this current coaching staff that is worthy to be the interim coach. Every faze of this team sucks big time. Which means everyone of the coaches responsible for their group  are doing a crappy job.

Someone above mentioned the fans and how they react.  I think thats the key right there.  If the team goes 2-5 over the rest of the season and Foles plays poorly, the defense is getting shredded and fans are leaving the stadium early Reid is done.

If Foles plays well and the team wins more than it loses, the fans seem enthusiastic then I say he keeps Reid.

So there ya go if you dont want the fat man back leave the games early and boo the team.

Trust me I was one of the fans leaving early, but with a 50,000 person waiting list for season tickets, there is no down side for lurie

That doesnt mean those fans on the wait list would still want season tickets if Reid comes back.

There was a window for a scenario like this to play out but Reid let it shut on him. Starting Foles will have no bearing on Reid's fate now. His ability to run an offense or evaluate staff and players for his entire team has proven to be woefully inadequate. If Foles gets to the playoffs, it will only show how wrong Reid was to keep him on the bench so long while the team fell apart. Foles changes a dynamic on this team which could actually put it back on track to the playoffs, but no thanks to Reid.

No matter what (unless we make a serious playoff deep run) then Reid is gone IMO.

Ive been in reids corner for the last few years, but after the last 20games or so, I gotta say, Its time for a new direction IMO
