Eagles signed OG Jake Scott and waived OL Julian Vandervelde.
Scott, an eight-year veteran, spent the previous four seasons with the Titans. He garnered plenty of interest on the open market in the offseason but was reportedly not willing to accept the veteran's minimum. Scott graded out as a top-10 guard in 2011, according to Pro Football Focus.

Geez, hard to believe that with literally 1/2 the leagues offensive lines being nothing short of hideous that a decnt player like Scott was sitting out there.
Now granted, he isn't an All Pro or anything. But he certainly would be an upgrade over Kelly. And he did play under Mudd a few years back did he not ???

I see you follow the NFL closely.
Just a little info for you...... The reason why so many teams have hideous OLs is because there are not enough starters to fill out this league, nor quality backups. So you take whatever is out there that can POSSIBLY be an upgrade at any position.
And Scott is a very POSSIBLE upgrade over Kelly.

Yes he did, and if he was brought in to play RG we can slide Kelly out to RT which was his natural position. That way Dunlap can sit on the bench where he belongs.

Do you know if he was injured or something that he was sitting out there ??? I know about the money issue. But my god, like I said. currently the OLs in the NFL are embarrassing so you would think someone would have offered more then the minimum.
Hard to believe, but the Eagles actually don't have the worst OL in the NFL. Not only are there a couple teams that are worse, but there are about 8-10 with OLs just as bad.

I wonder if we could get an exemption from the NFL that would allow the Eagles to play both Bell and Dunlap at LT at the same time ????????

awesome, our worst spot and biggest liability on the o-line is at tackle so we bring in a guard, i guess we're gonna try to convert/confuse him and make him a tackle as usual.
i know o-line is o-line and all positions are similar but im sick of the shuffle of every position like they are perfectly interchangeable.... its no wonder none of our o-line can execute proper blocks.

Do you know how to read? Our current RG Kelly is a natural RT, so putting Jake Scott at RG will free Kelly up to play RT and get Dunlap off the field.
