get past the 20 yard line. Its like there is a wire there to trip us up but thats as far as we get.

We haven't had a returner since Brian Mitchell who can take it to the house.

How come we have ignored this for years? Bobby April - Please!

I have never heard a special teams coach say he was outcoached, but the truth is he and the special teams have been terrible since the "Guru' has been here.

I know you don't want to talk about it, but I can't wait till they clean house in the offseason, this is really hard to take.

There is something wrong when us fans take the losses harder then the players do.

And one thing on the players, how do you look so lifeless when you only play once a week, unless the caoching staff has been tuned out......

Remember when teams feared coming in here and we would score 30 points a game?

Please lets not bring back the Ty and Koy Detemer days......nooooo

when the players learn to block

April should have a tough time finding another gig in the NFL.

Boykin isn't the answer, even Merrill has pointed that out. Doesn't have the burst and yes the so called wall is made of paper.

Do you even want to get into punt returns?   They don't exist anymore. We are fine for 5 yards, sad but true.

Again the fans notice these things for years and they are constantly ignored with a "were fine there"

Dave - When was the last time we returned a TD on a kickoff return?   Or for even sake past the 50 without a penaly called to bring it back.

And my final last rant, please, please get Kurt Coleman off the field. He does not belong in the NFL.

Great Post....I couldn't agree more....it's something we have lacked for a long time now....last 2 good kick returners I could remember were Vai Sikahema and Mitchell....it's been way too long since we had that.....something we desperately need!!

So is DeSean ...but I think were talking about a guy that's gonna do it every game....Westbrook and Jackson were used to do it sparingly.....

Guys, guys. Every position of a team does not need to be all pro, nor can it. No one could pay them all.

What are you talking about ?....I dont think were asking for an ALL Pro...as you say....were just asking for a guy that can get past the 20 yd line on occasion...maybe an occasional BIG Run....a Threat ....face it our returners arent doing ANYTHING.....doesnt have to be Devon Hester...I think thats all the OP meant....

Boykin was as accomplished as a player could be coming out of college. He was great in the preseason. I don't see a lot of opportunities, and I see a kid who runs as if there is no confidence in his blocking. The Eagles aren't alone, by the way. The Bears lead the league in average yard line start on kickoffs .. 26.2 yard line. The Eagles are 20th at 21.3-yard line. I'm not saying it's OK, but I'm saying that the kickoff return game is struggling around the league. The best team in the league, Houston, is last in this category, with an average start at the 19.1-yard line

It's just another area where the powers that be in the NFL, as part of this 'safety' idocy,  have essentially ended kickoff returns as an exciting and potentially game changing play.

The only stunning thing is how many fans buy into how they are ruining the sport with all of these rule changes and over litigation.

So, what Dave is saying is that the Eagles kick coverage is so unbelievably poor that it gives us a false sense of what our returners should be doing.

By the way, JR Reed was a great returner for one season.  Then he lost a battle with a fence.

Inc and Bor I couldn't agree any more, and thanks Dave for answering, but I need more then we what are showing.

I guess its maddening because we need now so many things. Wish there was some way we could have a top 5 fan requests for 2013.

Bet you we would be real good at that, and how amazing it would be if they would listen and do them all.

Ah dreaming, like hoping the Eagles hoist the trophy in my lifetime. Used to tell my Father, its like the curse of the Wolfman, it won't be lifted till we win the Super Bowl.
