I love how all the comparisons are to the few white WRs in the NFL.  What I like about Swope is his ability to be a complete WR.  He can give you the short and intermediate but he's explosive enough to create separation on the deep ball.  He's big and physical enough to be an 8-catch-per-game guy.  I like him as a replacement for Avant in the slot.  Keep Avant around because of his hands and STs but replacing him in the #3 role should be a priority.

Agreed. He is a do it all wr.

I would really like to see this guy in Chips offense. Reminds me of Brandon Stokley, and not just because he is white.

Slope has played slot his entire career at A&M, he had 1300 yards receiving his junior year. there is no better slot receiver coming out of college than Swope.

SLEEPER ALERT !!!

Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M: Swope put up impressive numbers during his college career, but he was still riding below the radar because of the number of talented players on his college squad. He did his best to step out of the shadows with an impressive performance on Sunday afternoon. Swope ran a blazing 4.34 40 and also posted a 37-inch vertical jump. He dropped a few balls during the field workout, but was an efficient route runner.

if he's there in the third, i would not mind picking him up at all... good competition for avant.

He ran a lot faster than he looks on tape. He's not nearly that fast on the field...

That said, he is the best slot receiver in the draft. As a 3rd round pick, I wouldn't complain... but I still feel there are better options.

Ok lets get this straight guys....please stop comparing the two just because they are white and play slot

When coming out of College:

Welker is 5 foot 9, 185 Pounds | Swope is 6 foot, 206 Pounds

Welker ran a 4.6 40 Yard Dash | Swope ran a 4.34 40 Yard Dash

Welker played 3 Years at Texas Tech - 86 Receptions ('02), 50 Receptions ('01), 26 Receptions ('00)

Swope played 4 Years at Texas A&M - 72 Receptions ('12), 89 Receptions ('11), 79 Receptions ('10)
