Reid will be back next year

1. Lurie proclaiming that the Eagles were the gold standard of the NFL without ever having won anything, ever.
2. Hiring OL coach as defensive coordinator.
3. Bringing in ex-con Michael Vick and making him one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league.
4. Drafting a 27 year old fireman in the first round of the NFL draft.
5. Hiring an intern in 2000 and in three years promoting him to Director of Football Administration. 3 years after that, promoting him to VP of Football Administration. 2 years after that, promoting him to VP of player personnel. 2 years after that, making him the GM of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The list goes on and on. The simple fact is... we're all idiots. Lurie will, once again, extend Reid just because every single one of us thinks that he won't.

Reid is directly responsible for 3 of those 5 (points 2-4). Lurie will only bring him back if he is happy with continuing to be mediocre (which I'd bet he isn't).

Dead wrong. The stands will be filled and the area will still be crazy about the team.
Rich Kotite could coach and this city would be right there with the Eagles.
And if they were winning games nobody would care if a rapist was coaching this team.

No, the only ones that care now-a-days are the fans, and the fans have had enough with Reid. The fans care more for the team than to allow Andy to coach it again next year.

No a few of us weren't fooled by that, unfortunately, the few of us who don't have power to fire the coach.

I think Lurie has his limits on trying to look clever. This is the end. Common sense will prevail this time.

Not winning the SB is not the same as not winning anything. It is, however true that not winning the SB means a failure in the ultimate goal
2. Hiring OL coach as defensive coordinator.
Read some of the other threads. Lots of people wand the OL coach back as Defensive coordinator
3. Bringing in ex-con Michael Vick and making him one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league.
Vick's criminal record is nothing to do with Reid. He was the consensus number two choice for league MVP (yes, I know that only one person got any votes) the year that led to his record breaking contract
4. Drafting a 27 year old fireman in the first round of the NFL draft.
Watkins was drafted right where the draftniks had him going. His age is meaningless. You'd do better to complain about his lack of football experience than his age.
5. Hiring an intern in 2000 and in three years promoting him to Director of Football Administration. 3 years after that, promoting him to VP of Football Administration. 2 years after that, promoting him to VP of player personnel. 2 years after that, making him the GM of the Philadelphia Eagles.
As previously mentioned, Reid had absolutely nothing to do with that, but what you have done here is outline an absolutely normal career path for an able executive in any field.
The list goes on and on. The simple fact is... we're all idiots. Lurie will, once again, extend Reid just because every single one of us things that he won't.

I don't think it has anything to do with Lurie being fooled. This franchise has a history of doing the exact opposite of what everyone outside of the NovaCare complex thinks they will do. But you're right, Reid has lost the locker room. Common sense would say to replace Reid. Eagles sense will say to replace the players... again.
Reid isn't going anywhere.

The Eagles brand is still one of the top 10 most valuable. There may be a day when Andy is no longer waddling up and down the sidelines but it won't be any day next year.

If this is your only argument, you need to chill. Yes its true Lurie has been committed to Reid for a long time. But Reid also never had two straight seasons without making the playoffs, and five straight losses after a a 3-1 start.
Yes Reid is done in Philly.

This right here. Honestly if we win I do not care. Get this City a SB win and parade, well the possibility of man babies will happen.

The overwhelming pride and arrogance of this organization not only makes my argument valid, it also makes it likely.
I hear your point, but I would be shocked if you're right.
The difference this year is everyone, media, fans, etc...feels its time for the Eagles to move on from Reid. His son just passed and he came back too soon. He is spent emotionally. His post-bye success isn't happening.
Last year it was just the fans...the media was on the 'be careful what you wish for' train. This year they are on the same train as the fans...they respect Reid, but feel its time for change. Lurie knows this. It would take a miracle finish.
I hope Reid takes some time away from the NFL....but something tells me he won't.

Your prerogative. All I care about is the "W". B-more does not care that Lewis murdered that dude. Pittsburgh does not care that Ben raped those women...
People overlook stuff even when they say as a blanket statement... "I would never"
Maybe not you, but I am saying people as a whole.

I know a lot of people who have been affected by rape in their lives. Rapists are the scum of the earth and if we had one as our head coach, it would be too hard for me to cheer him on every weekend.
