I'm years into indifference here - keeping Reid, which I will believe is a distinct possibility until he is actually gone, won't affect me like it will the hordes of fans just now waking up to the reality that KOJO, myself, and few others have seen for five years now.
I'll have a great weekend, CT - you do the same.

I respect the fact that you won't discuss next season ... but a win over the Redskins isn't going to make me feel any better. I don't care if we win another game from here on out. I just hope to see Foles progressing. That's not to say that I won't support the team, attend games, wear my Eagles stuff ... but I expect nothing so the losses don't hurt anymore.

Playing out the string.... he knows it, Spadoro knows it, players know it.
Team may win a few more games.... but in essence everyone in the locker room and FO looking ahead to what is coming on New Years Eve.
Reid will be fired and it will likely be in Howie's hands. So don't think getting Reid outta here is the answer to all of our prayers.
Future of this franchise very much up for debate while Reid, aka Craig Stadler, can continue his career in San Diego.

As a Philly fan whom just moved to San Diego, if the Chargers hired Reid as HC, I would be forced to do so deep soul searching to understand the root of my curse....

I agree, Rock. I won't believe Reid is truly gone until I see Lurie announcing it at a real PC at the end of the season, not like the sham one he put on last year.

I have believed all year that he's back with 9-7 - I think a late season "run" to get to 8-8, especially if Foles plays relatively well, will allow Lurie to believe he has the wiggle room needed. This schedule makes it possible if the Eagles even play half-a**ed football from here on out.
That possibility is one reason why I would have preferred not to have seen Foles nearly this early. He either gets ruined by this coach and OL, giving the flawed impression that he isn't "the guy", or wins some garbage games so Lurie can call it "fool's gold" again as he extends Reid.

I would like to know what percentage of the fan base has felt the same way. I would say it's been five years (at least) for me, too. Five years that I've been convinced that everything Andy Reid touches turns to crap, and five years of an increasing replacement of pain with apathy. But until maybe two years ago, I felt like I was in a very tiny minority. Even as the bandwagon has grown immensely, I still feel that most other people came to the realization that Reid needed to go far differently (and far later) than I did.

Most are just starting to "get it" as we speak.
As incredible as it seems, I would guess that the majority of the fan base supported Lurie bringing him back this year. I've truly never seen anything quite like this fan base's inability to see the deterioration of the product here over the last several years, especially the last couple of seasons.
Let's hope the 'nightmare' finally ends this year, and the proper steps are taken necessary to move forward and rehabilitate this franchise ASAP.

If you or anyone else will be shocked, its you who haven't paid attention or watched this team for the last 6 games.
Lurie has no choice... no matter what you think about his decision making vs conventional wisdom. Reid has lost the team, lost the national press that supported him and most importantly, lost the fan base.
As hard as it is to believe, majority of fan base supported him coming back last offseason. Not the case here anymore.
Its over... way over- the only reason he even survives the regular season, is that Lurie is a deer in the headlights.....
The Fat man has sung... he sealed his fate over the bye week.

Press conference already scheduled for New Years Eve....bank on it!
Its Lurie's dream.... a Holiday, when press coverage and viewer/readership will be down and he can pull it off in his cowardly way where he praises him or even gives him the option of "stepping down" due to personal reasons

I'm not sure if it was a majority or not, but it was certainly a far higher number than it should have been. A lot of people don't seem to have the ability to take a long-term, objective look at the franchise. They look at everything in a vacuum. I think that's the best explanation for their inability to see the steady regression, because it's been a five or six year regression now.
