Per PFT: Andy Reid: Michael Vick thinks he let the team down

He may not have let the team down, but Vick definitely has let the fans down this year. For all his film watching and training in the off-season, Vick still makes dumb mistakes and cannot read a D to save his life. Face it peeps, Vick sucks!
P.S. Yes, OP has started another negative Vick thread. Deal with it.

mike vick pulled me back in in '10 and imo he did about as well as he could with these crappy coaches and their play calling
ide like to see him finish up his career in maybe buffalo or any team that will run the ball and just let him manage the game, hes not brady or manning and not cut out to be throwing the ball 40-50 times a game but that doesnt mean he cant be successful throwing 20-25 times on a good coached team
i'll always be a fan i admire how he picked himself up after the mistakes and he atleast played his heart out for philly
thanx mike!!!

I agree. I always wanted to see him get his life together but I didn't want it done here. Hopefully he goes to Arizona or somewhere and has some success.
Save it you armchair GMs reading this, I don't care.

Honestly, the team has been going downhill since AR and MM went mad scientist on the leagues @ss and decided throwing 70-80% of the time (with the number increasing when it matters most late in games) was a great idea. Vick has been utilized terribly here. Everyone knows the guy isn't a stud pocket passer. And we obviously have on the top 3 backs in the NFL. So let's make Vick play Peyton Manning anyway. Ughhhh. So sick of the Fat Man.
Defense would be fine is we'd given Bowles the offseason to adjust to DC and implement his own system. But we stuck with Castillo and got a decent unit that couldn't quite get it done when it mattered and played with no edge.
Honestly, I feel bad for Mike. He went out there like a soldier every week-- crappy blitz recognition and all-- and played his heart out. He got destroyed over and over again. And I think it just destroyed his confidence which caused his already high turnovers to increase. It would've been nice to see how this season unfolds if Mike has a competent OL. But it is good for his career and the Philly organization that we tanked so we can start over from the Fat Man.

Yeah. Andy and Vick can go continue their careers elsewhere with less spotlight and we get to clean house and rebuild. Its a win-win.

The whole team sucks, but not Vick? I think when your whole team sucks most of the blame goes to the QB and the HC.
No, this really only happens in Philly. Everyone else can see that this offensive line is garbage. Not to excuse Vick from any blame though.

not in order
Reid, O line play, whole defense in general.
I think those groups are much bigger culprits imo than Vick.

You said that Vick "pulled you back in in 2010"
But isn't the reason that he had some of his best games passing ever because of the coaching and playcalling?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Reid and Marty are good (they're not). But it seems like you're deflecting blame from Vick...who stank as a passer prior to those six games in 2010. And has pretty much always stank as a passer. Maybe he doesn't need the Buffalo offense to succeed. Maybe he's just not cut out to be a successful QB.

No. I'm a Vick supporter but he won't be in Philly next year. I'm not sure if our starting QB for next year is even on the roster.

The whole team MEANS THE WHOLE TEAM. Stop cherry picking the post to add to whatever haterism/TATER agenda you are trying to push.
I added as an aside that I commended Mike for his service here and gave props to him for playing despite getting blasted every week. No where in that post did I say the WHOLE TEAM sucks with the EXCEPTION OF MIKE VICK.
And that's the most ridiculous assessment I have ever heard. It's the Qbs fault dbs can't cover? defensive players can't wrap up and tackle? Blitzes don't get home? Safty's blow coverage assignments? Centers/offensive lineman don't correctly identify blocks and pick up blitzes? WRs don't break off routes and come back to the ball?
There's so much that is broke with this team that its not even funny. Yes the HC needs to shoulder a lot of the blame, the QB as well for some of the offensive short falls. But football almost more so than any other professional sport is a complete team game. And the Eagles have completely 100% crapped the bed as a team this year.
Reading and comprehension FTW
