How is it so hard to understand that too much posting is NOT a problem. Having boards that cant handle it IS.
Invision doesnt cut it. We shouldnt have to sacrafice anything to stay with them. What have they done for us other than make the message boards go from absolutely fantastic to complete trash?
If they cant supply a product that can handle people actually using it then take the business elsewhere. This is beyond ridiculous. This thing hasnt been fixed in months.
Just trying the same "solutions" that dont work over and over again isnt going to be the answer.
Quit locking the blog and go find some software that works already. Jesus Christ.

It seems like someone is shutting off various things within the ACP though and that screws up the way the board operates. During the game today (and last week I believe), I couldn't get the enter key to respond while posting. So I couldn't make paragraphs unless I toggled "editing mode" off.
Dave, is the board on a virtual server, a dedicated server or a shared server?

This site is on the cusp of greatness. The talent is there with a potential for bandwidth dynasty. It's just a hair off, needs a little tweak. They saw some things they thought they could exploit. In hindsight, they probably "goofed" and need to just keep firing.
Gold standard.

We don't touch any of that. The only thing we do on gameday is disable new topics on TATE while the game is on (and for a few hours after until people calm down).

Did you look at the video I posted? I wasn't in a single thread in that. I was clicking around.
The problem is NOT a single thread, the problem is Invisions server. We didn't have these issues 18 to 24 months ago (and backward). Sure, the board basically crashed when Terrell Owens was signed in 2004 or when the Eagles lost the 2002 NFC Championship game to the Bucs, but that was because of the amount traffic, not because of a single thread.
Now, the boards become very solw not only on game day, but at random times of the day during the week too. Yesterday (I don't remember what time) it was acting the same way for me.

Before this year, you could go to the game day thread for example and follow the game from the posts and post about this play or that play and have it be current to the game action. No real slowness at all.
Now though, let's say that Shady breaks a 60 yard run or Vick fumbles... again..., and you try to make a comment. It might take 5 minutes to go through the whole process of clicking on the thread, typing the post, clicking "Post" and having it actually show up in the thread.
Now Invision may tell you that it's because of having so many people in one thread at one time but that's either a lie or just an answer they're pulling out of their *** to get you to leave them alone. I've been in Game Day threads where there were 1,000 or more people in the thread and didn't have any issues.
I understand that you looked at it this past Sunday for a few minutes but if it wasn't much of an issue, people wouldn't be complaining as much as they are. How many complaints about board performance have you seen in the past decade? How many have you seen in the past year? I'd bet that 95% of all complaints were within the past year or so.
