Purely my opinion...

The coaching staff:
Step 1: Andy Reid resigns.  He steps down, classy move by us and Reid.  Entire coaching staff goes with him.

Step 2: Lurie hires Chip Kelly.  I still am a Gruden fan, but not sold on him leaving the booth and I think Kelly brings some new ideas to the league.  Kelly can bring in his own staff, with new ideas and new schemes.

Scheme:
A spread, fast paced offense and a 3-4 scheme which Oregon plays.  It's going to be met with hostility, but this is a passing league and good defenses get pressure and make plays at the LB position. The 4-3 is still alive and well, but some of the best defenses in the NFL are 3-4 defenses.  Baltimore, Pitt, NYJ (in previous years) Arizona, Houston, Miami etc..

Front office:
Roseman stays.  I don't believe he's been a big problem.  He needs to develop as a drafter, but I believe Reid had a lot to do with that.  His FA signings and trades IMO have been very good.  He's gotten the players Reid wanted, and that's his job.

The Roster:
QB:
Eagles release Michael Vick.  He's done as a starter here.  He will find a home on a struggling team and at least have an outside shot to start.  I think Miami, KC, Jacksonville are good fits for him to at least secure a backup role at a much, much cheaper salary.

QB Nick Foles and QB Trent Edwards can stay.  Foles has a shot to be the future of the team, still unsure right now.  Edwards is serviceable as a #3.  Bigger needs elsewhere.

RB:
Too many other needs.  McCoy, Brown and Polk stay.  A lot of options with those 3.  Hopefully they will be used better.  Dion Lewis is done.

FB:
Havili is a decent FB.  Again, too many other needs.  He stays.

TE:
Celek stays as does Clay Harbor, but Harbor needs to show the new staff something.  Competition will be brought in, though.

WR:
Maclin, Avant, Jackson, Cooper should stay.  I think Maclin is soft, but has his occassional breakout games.  I think at a reasonable price, he should be brought back.  I wouldn't lose sleep if he isn't brought back, though.  Johnson is useless and can't even make a play on ST.  He's gone.

OL:
Peters, Kelce, Herremans, Watkins will all return.  I believe Mathis is serviceable but competition will be brought in all across the OL.  A long term solution at LT may be needed and a starting RT is a desperate need right now.  Move Herremans back to LG.  Dunlap, Kelly, Menkin, Bell, Reynolds, Scott, Tennant will all be gone.

DE:
A big change here.  A scheme change means a lot of players will be moved around.  Trent Cole I believe can transition to 3-4 DE.  He has the run stopping capabilities.  Brandon Graham was projected as a 3-4 OLB due to his physical liabilities and i think he can be moved to 3-4 ROLB.  Curry can rotate in at DE.  Tapp is going to be gone.  My biggest issue is Jason Babin.  He's getting older and showed he's not a fit in the 3-4 scheme.  I'd look to deal him, if possible.  If we can get a 4th rounder for him and get him out of here, I'm ok with that.  He's got that "I've made my money and now I"m going to coast" written all over him.  Move him out, I say.  Philip Hunt can be released, he's shown me nothing this year.

DT:
Derek Landri is on a 1 year deal and can go.  Cullen Jenkins has had success in a 3-4 Defense.  He can stay for another season.  Mike Patterson is a big body but slightly undersized.  I'm not sure if he can fit in at DT, but for now, we cannot cut everyone.  I'm keeping him.  Thorton can stay for depth.  Fletcher Cox can fit in a 3-4 DE or possibly a DT if he puts on some weight.  That will be up to the coaches to find a fit for him.

LB:
Demeco Ryans was moved because he was not a fit in a 3-4...at least not Wade Phillips' 3-4.  He needs to stay at one of the MLB positions with Kendricks at the other position.  Phyically gifted players don't completely disappear with a scheme change.  Casey Matthews will be released unless Kelly feels like he can fit in as a backup.  He did play at Oregon, after all.  Jamar Chaney and Jordan can move on.

CB:
I think Asomugha can still be an elite player with better coaching.  He stays.  DRC should be allowed to go into FA.  He's soft.  Boykin and Marsh can stay.  Hughes is a decent #5 option.

S:
Allen perhaps can improve under better coaching.  Kurt Coleman can stay a backup and can contribute on ST.  Anderson is a great ST'er so I would keep him around.  Sims...gone. We need to draft someone high here, but you just can't cut everyone.

K:
You have a franchise guy here for years to come.  No issues here.

P:
You need to pick up somebody via FA, draft or UDFA here.

LS:
Dorenbos is getting up there, but never has had an issue.  You can get another year or two out of him.

Free Agency:

I took a long look at Football's Future.  They project available Free Agents.  I think we should be conservative this year.  Going all out in Free Agency hasn't worked.

Sign:
OT Sebastian Vollmer.  Starting RT
TE: Dustin Keller: Competition at TE
CB: Quentin Jammer: Can fill in for DRC.  Seems to have fallen out of favor in SD.
LB: Shaun Phillips: Aging and Ingram has taken over in SD.  He can come in and compete, though

NFL Draft:

1  LB Jarvis Jones - A Pass rushing OLB that will complete a revamped corps of Kendricks, Ryans, Jones, Graham.  That's a good start IMO for a new scheme.
2 S Baccari Rambo - A desperate need here
3 WR Aaron Dobson - 6'3"  200 lb. WR out of Marshall.
4QB Zac Dysert Miami OH.  Competetion for Foles, possible long-term solution.
4 (For Babin) P Ryan Allen La Tech
5 Josh Dworaczyk - OG LSU
6 Traded to move up in the 2nd
6 (For a 2014 5th) Patrick Lewis - C Texas A&M
6 Cameron Meredith DE Nebraska
7 Michael Clay OLB Oregon
7 Dan O'Neill OT W. Michigan

QB: Foles, Dysert, Edwards
RB: McCoy, Brown, Polk
FB: Havili
WR: Maclin, Jackson, Dobson, Cooper, Avant
TE: Celek, Keller, Harbor
OL: Peters, Herremans, Kelce, Watkins, Vollmer, Mathis, O'Neill, Lewis, Dworaczyk
DL: Jenkins, Patterson, Cole, Curry, Cox, Thorton, Meredith
LB: Kendricks, Ryans, Jones, Graham, Phillips, Matthews, Clay
CB: Asomugha, Jammer, Marsh, Boykin, Hughes
S: Rambo, Allen, Coleman, Anderson
K: Henery
P: Allen
LS: Dorenbos

What I learned doing this: You can't completely gut this team.  We have too much invested money-wise into some of these players.  I'd love to say cut em and trade em all, but I think coaching has a lot to do with a lot of these players failing.  A new scheme, better coaching, and a fresh start can go a long way to helping this team. A roster turnover, too, doesn't happen over night.

Looks pretty good, only I would draft a stud NT if we go to the 3-4. Also would focus on a guard in round 3 or so.

wow, i must say you put a lot of thought into this and i know people will come on here and bash you and say this move is dumb and that is dumb etc., but i have to say i love this mock. i would be okay with it, a lot of our players may not fit in the 3-4 and may take a year or two PAST this to fully transition but we wont know until we transition. i never thought we would be in position to draft Jarvis Jones or ever could due to our scheme but this just opened my eyes lol

the only things i may add is try to talk vick into taking a MASSIVE paycut and tell him he may not be starter and see if he accepts, cuz if he does let kelly see what he can do with the guy and if he doesnt start then he could be situational.

the only other thing i would like to see done here is attack a OG in the 2nd instead of Safety, then trade some lower rounds to move back into the 2nd for a safety. I think maybe Barrett Jones early second then a S after? Safety is VERY deep, we could easily get Vaccaro, T Jefferson, Matt Elam, T.J. McDonald, Robert Lester and Shawn Williams as well as Rambo. One of them should be there after taking an OG. Lester, WIlliams, Rambo all having played in the 3-4. I feel Watkins is the problem on the line and Mathis is a product of the line falling apart, but they are not the answers.

also may i add if we have the cap in FA to make a run at Jairus Byrd or Kenny Phillips?

Only thing i DONT like is letting DRC walk, i understand you think hes soft but i feel hes much better then Jammer and shouldnt break the bank to resign.

all in all, great though put into this.

I hate the 3-4 idea.  You just drafted Fletcher Cox, a premiere 4-3 attacking DT in the making, he is one of the lone defenders that we can build(rebuild) around.

Too many of our players fit 4-3 to change.

I like Keller but I would like Jared Cook more.  I think pairing him with Celek makes the TE position legit here.
DRC>Asomugha by a long shot!

I think the Eagles will look very hard at QB if they're up this high.  If Reid goes, new coaches like to get their guy at QB.  If Reid stays something tells me he falls in love with Barkley...

LOVE the draft, only concern I have is drafting Jarvis Jones. He'll be gone by #3 with the Browns and Jaguars both needed OLBs. If the draft order is shuffled and the Eagles get him, then that's fine, but I'd rather get Dee Milliner who can play opposite of (what I believe should be) DRC. Maybe the new HC comes in and keeps both DRC and Asomugha if he sees something in them, but I'd rather go with the youthful players here. Drafting Milliner and moving Asomugha to free safety would upgrade both RCB and FS. I know Asomugha isn't good at zone, but anything's better than Kurt Coleman.

Ryans sucked in a 3-4 scheme in Houston, hence why they dealt him to us to begin with.  if you really wanted to move to a 3-4 you'd have to find a stud nose tackle, the entire defense won't work well without one.  that would have to be draft priority #1.

i'd hang on to DRC, if all Nnamdi needs is better coaching it's got to work for him too.  Also would rather have E.J. Manuel if we're getting a mid-round QB.

So far I'm 3 for 3 (Reid was fired, though, not re-signed)  Possibly 4 for 4 if indeed Kelly brings the 3-4 D to Philly.

Mathis is serviceable and you wanted to start Watkins? Even for nov that is moronic.
