My ideal draft would look like this...
1st - OT
2nd - G/TE
3rd - G/TE
4th - G
5th - defense depth
6th - " "
7th - " "

We do need:
Quarterback - but there aren't any good ones this draft, so skip it and sign a free agent fill in for next season
Offensive Line - should be our top pick, maybe top 2 picks
Safety - biggest defensive need
Linebacker - could definitely still use another one

What do you mean is this a trick question? We got a ton of holes on this team. What position is so obvious from the others in your mind?

what difference does the BPA make if they don't fit your scheme? That's been the problem. They haven't picked who would work out the best for the needs of the team, and I think that's how you have to approach it. Heck, even if they did go for the BPA, it's not like this staff would recognize them if they came up and kissed them.

Who said I want this staff involved? Real teams draft BPA, real coaches play that BPA where they will excel. Real
coaches will make it work, real FOs draft BPA.
If the BPA doesnt fit "your scheme" maybe your scheme sucks? Forget schemes, schemes are the problem here. I dont want SCHEMES anymore. I want a team to line up and play football. Stop trying to outscheme and just try to beat them.

because this isn't the Make A Wish Foundation and you might not have a choice in whether this staff is involved or not. Howie just got an extension. He's not a football guy, and he's going to the one making the calls, unless a new coach can come in here and demand that he's in complete charge of all football operations, including scouting and player personnel.

2. Defensive End
3. Safety
4. Cornerback
But, the BPA when all is said and done. If the Eagles have a top 8 pick, you need to try to get a perennial pro bowl player. So, if that is at CB 9or whatever position), then so be it.

Dude...that extension doesnt mean a damn thing. Hes gone. They cant get a new coach with Howie Roseman in that position. No coach wil come here.

You need to time warp to present day. Watkins has been given up on and Mathis hasn't been good at all. This is 2012, not the end of 2011.

Cool, now compare Mathis to a guard and Herremans to a tackle. Better yet, put mathis at tackle and herremans at guard. Nows whos the better lineman? What are we talking about here? Mathis has been horrible, the entire line has been horrible. Herremans is the only one that has been consistently good over a long career and you want to compare him to a journeyman bum playing the easier position.
