The preseason all pro MVP Qb nick foles looked a lot like Vick. Constant pressure and when he had time he was to beat up to make accurate throws.

Oh but he made so many adublies that saved the game!

Where all the vick sucks cuz he threw pass that went of celeks hands ppl now?

That was just racists thinking the offensive linemen were racists like them and would want to protect a white quarterback more.

According to most ppl nick foles would read defense and get the ball out so fast and make the oline look top 5 in the league.

Lmao.

I actually read a post a while ago that said "Nick Foles gets rid of the ball really quick after taking a 7 step drop."

nick is going to be accurate
he is going to make the oline look better
he will stop our turnover problems
and people forget how mobile he is...

i would be shocked if foles isnt the next tom brady....i mean they were both late round picks and both have 2 arms & 2 legs (see the similarities)

It's funny how some ppl are blinded by the Vick hate. I don't care who the Qb is, this oline sucks. Just wanted to prove that to people who said Vick was the problem not the oline.

You guys are ridiculous. Nick Foles sure was underwhelming, but guys, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was:

It's wonderful and all you want to be the first to chop the head off Nick Foles, but the truth is he's a rookie in his first start. Scale back your expectations a bit, stop being so desperate.

I'm one of those people who wanted foles in, not like this but hey he's in. No one expected him to come out and wow people! Only idiots would think that... rookies need time to devolop so why not have him do it behind a horrible line when the season is over, so if and when he does get a healthy line back he can perform much better! I think most people knew he wouldnt be a savoir its really the ones who didnt want him in putting those words in our mouth. We just want to hurry up and move on already lets see if this rook can develope if not lets get someone... Vick is old whether he is good or not.. hes old.

I don't hate Vick, never did, just never thought much of him as a QB when he was in Atlanta, fact of the matter is, he is what he is. You can't sit here bashing a guy and wanting him on the bench when his 1st career start went as well as several of Mike Vick's in his 10 year career. I will maintain what I said before, he's a rookie, he's going to take lumps, let him take his lumps now and learn from them. It's not like we were going anywhere, especially after the losses to Pittsburgh, Detroit and the Saints.

The theory behind starting Foles was that yes, he gets the ball out quickly, makes pre snap reads, the o-line would do a btter job blocking, because Foles doesn't hold onto the ball long, and he played behind an o-line just as terrible at Arizona. Having said that, this isn't going to happen 1.) having been thrown into a game because the starter got hurt and 2.) because he's not had much time to work with the 1st team, this is why he should finish out the season. Everyone here can agree on one thing, we want a Lombardi Trophy, however, we need to be a little more patient, especially with guys who have only had one career start.

I'm not bashing foles at all. I'm just tired of ppl comparing him to Brady and stuff. Foles might be a good Qb but in the future but not in front of this line. All the mistakes made by foles are becuz of line and the same can be said for Vick.

The problem is Marty's and Andy's offense.  Always was always will be.  Vick got the ball out very quickly this year.  Problem is, if you read the defense right what difference does it make?  Yeah there is a blitz coming, my guys should be able to buy me 2.5 seconds, then the 2 free rushers come straight up the middle giving you zero time.

They fired Mike Martz and his big play vertical offense in Chicago because it was getting Cutler killed.  At least they were smart in Chicago.

I understand the theory that you let your hopeful franchise rookie QB take his hits in a lost season for learning purposes. But I don't think he'll learn much on his back or in street clothes.

Which is very likely to happen given how bad this oline is.

If they can reduce his passes to around 15-20 per game and run the crap out of the running backs than I'm all for it. Does any of you think Reid and Marty are capable of calling a game like that?

The whole team quit yesterday. Receivers weren't trying to get open, the OL was business as usual, and the QB (whether it be Vick or Foles) was set up to fail.

Vick, while still a terrible QB, shouldn't have a single ounce of blame placed on him for this season. The problems of this team go so far beyond the QB position it's scary.

And even though the OL has been terrible all year, Vick still had Herremans and who was decent and Watkins who was better than his replacements for most if the season. What was out there yesterday was beyond pathetic.

I don't know. Herremans is far far better than Kelly but he was struggling too. Watkins on the other hand...complete garbage. He was the one allowing free rushers every 3rd snap. Getting bull rushed, speed rushed, wiffing. He's a disaster.

I'd like to see if he'd be a decent player in a conventional OL scheme.  Mudd's scheme just doesn't work here - whether it is that the players just aren't good enough or his scheme is outdated, I dunno.

I agree with this. I think these days the D lineman are just so fast that the quicker more agile o lineman are no longer an advantage now that they give away size as strength. For 2 years we've seen Shady have to make moves in the backfield because guys are getting beat at the point of attack consistently.

The most entertainment Ive gotten out of Eagles football this is reading our totally objective non Vick fan EXPERTS weigh in on what a good quarterback could do in this failed system.

I just want to know how long you want to risk the only upside we have at the position?  I would love to see Foles increase his confidence and become a serviceable QB, but its not happening this season.  You'd be an idiot to think otherwise.

And there are no Manning, Marino, Montana, Brady, Luck types waiting to be picked up early in the draft next year and I'm happy about that.  Build a solid run based offense and learn how to play some real football.  Then see how the QB position MAGICALLY improves no matter who is running it.

The QB most of you all love to hate MIGHT be the only vet QB willing to take his chances at a reasonable salary to help this overpriced collection of crap you call a football team.  But I wouldnt count on it.

They only gave up 23 sacks last year and Shady had a great year. To me the problem is its too hard to find replacements who know the system. Of course the garbage OL backups Roseman & Reid fielded this year probably would have stunk in any system. In any case I'm sure Mudd will be gone with Reid in 6 weeks

Maybe a very small part of the blame, but otherwise i agree. Anyone who truly understands football should know that any QB back there this year would've been pummeled and forced into turnovers.
