No one absolves Michael Vick for anything. Sane fans just knows that for all his intangibles which are mainly turnovers and staying healthy. He gives this team THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN RIGHT NOW AND FOR THE FORESEABLE FUTURE.

Give the man a serviceable line with clean pockets where he isn't getting hit all the damn time and the offense will be marginally better. That is known. Most of us don't want to take a chance on an unproven guy, who so far in ANY action pre-season included looks like a solid back-up that would be good on spot duty.

We don't want to take a chance and see where it goes and if all else fails? Ah well there's always the draft.  We know what we can be/do with a serviceable line and decent play calling.

Last years failings were not on the head of Vick solely... we finished 8-8 with 5 of those losses coming in the last minutes cuz a defense could not hold onto the lead. Could or should they have been blowouts in 2 cases they were and the lead was still blown by a BS defense.

Vick had 2010. . .he had a MUCH better OL last year and still was pretty "meh."  The guy has regressed and will never improve enough over whatever couple years he has left to make up for 10+ years of developing bad habits. . .just not going to happen.  He's still so bad at reading defenses that he looks shocked when guys come free off the edges because there simply aren't enough guys to block them all, etc etc etc.

What "chance" are we taking on an unproven guy??  Vick is what he is. . .and hasn't played all that much better than our rookie did in his 1st start so I don't see too big of fall off.  Better to see if Foles can do anything because we know Vick isn't going to do much and the season isn't salvageable to begin with which is why it was stupid to have McCoy in there to get injured in garbage time by AR, his excuse for it is even more ridiculous.

Foles has a lot to learn but he has time on his side where Vick has close to as much to learn but only has a couple years in which to improve on it.  I don't think anyone doubted that Vick gave us the best chance to win coming into the season but Vick played terribly in the first few games and now the rest of the team has quit on this coaching staff because neither side of the ball can call a game to save their lives right now.

Yet out of the 7 games he played in from start to finish with the starters they were 5-2 and every game he left with an injury they were actually winning when he left.

You mean those same 5 games where our potent offense managed all of 3 points in ALL those 4th quarters we lost in the last minutes on???  Offense had must as much to do with the blown leads as the defense.

Vick hasn't been playing much better than our rookie? When's the last time any starting WR squad on the Philadelphia Eagles played a full 4 quarters with Vick and only could muster 2 cates for 5 total yards between them?

And you're exactly right offense is as much to blame as defense. And last time I checked qb was just 1 of 11 on the other side of the ball. You guys keep pushing the goal post. Any sane fan on here will tell you what the issues are with Vick and not make excuses. I've already stated his main issues that continuously come up.

Look I applaud Vick for his heart and guts that he has showed but his decision making has been TERRIBLE this year.  His presnap reads have been pretty damn terrible his entire career and his blitz recognition is even worse than that.

The guy can make plays happen with his legs but even those are weakening and can't be relied upon as a 32 year old QB like he could back in the day.  He's improved as a QB but he isn't some elite QB by any means.

I'll just answer your other "moronic" above that even on the last 4 games of the season that we WON with him at QB we didn't score at all in the 4th quarter and almost lost a couple of those because of it. . .so please STOP acting like I am some Vick HATERZ for simply giving my opinion and critique on one of the most overrated QB's in the past 20 years.  2 playoff wins. . .GREAT!!!  YAY!!!

First thing, our OL was not that great last year. They did improve over the course of the year, but a lot of people are basing their judgement on the "fool's gold" of the last 4 games. It is interesting, that the best player in Howard Mudd's OL was a 340 lb freak of nature. Amazing how much different the line looked without Peters, even before Kelce went down.

So, does this absolve Vick. No, he still contributed to the struggles, but there still plenty of blame to go around. However, since this is about the OL let's be real. There is not one OL who should not be under the microscope. And the Howard Mudd experiment must end. We don't need anymore MJG, but these Lilliputians we have need to go. When I think that we could have had Pouncey or Iupati to go with Peters, that would be a hell of an OL.

Sometimes the D needs to show up.  This offense isn't the Patriots where they score 14-17 points a game.  Just more excuses.  In 2010, "they are scoring too fast!  Makes the D tired!"  In 2011, "we only score in the 1st half, why can't we score in the 4th quarter when it matters?"  In 2012, "We can't score in the beginning of the game, Vick sucks.  Must be the reason why we suck now."

This year is over. It was over after the Saints game. But I will never cheer for my team to lose. Unless we are in the hunt for a #1 Draft pick. I think above all other problems ANDY REID and his staff and his attitude towards the game, etc. etc. MUST GET THE F OUT.

I understand the D needs to show up but when you're "the top 10 offense" in the league yet you can never score in the 4th quarter you can't expect your defense to shut out every opponent in the 4th. . .sometimes you need some offense with it too.  Each side has been a part of the teams failures throughout the years.

What are you talking about?  Foles pass hit him in both hands in a pretty good spot. . .defender hit his arm right as the ball did causing the tip.  Vick through that pass way to high and to far out for Celek to barely even get one hand on it and he had 2 defenders behind him to boot.  No double standards there.  The fact that you seem to think that a rookie in his first start should be held to the same standards as a 10+ year vet is where the double standard is. . .

San Fran game up 20 or something then maclin loses fumble in game winning drive that never happened.

Bears game desean fumbles punt return maclin falls and can't get first down on 4th.

Giants game up 16-14 before getting hand injury

The one game that was solely on Vick was the bills game even then he almost made a come back.

He was effective when he played last year. We were in winning positions and our defense almost never gets any turnovers to help Vick
Out either but to place the entire 2011 season on Vick is unfair

I think MM, April, and Bowles should be held accountable.

Let us see who gets a pass? Shady and Havili. Everyone else has been playing horrid. Demeco has looked good at times but still has made mistakes.

So bottom line: the team as a whole is Fing the hell up! Even when they are playing decently they can not make it right. The toilet has flushed and they are spiraling.

Well in terms of turnovers they are comparable but I would still take Rivers.  If given a running game Rivers can be pretty effective but he hasn't had one since LT.  Also Gates almost done hasn't helped either.
