When Ray Rhodes had his disaster of a season, he wasn't fired mid-season, and the team wound up doing very well in the post-Rhodes era. There is a good, young core of talent on this team. Whoever takes over will have great facilities and decent personnel to mold into his team. If the team continues its free fall, the Eagles will be well-positioned for the upcoming draft.
Firing Reid mid-season accomplishes nothing whatsoever.

Well that's exactly it. The thing that the whiners can't do is explain what firing Reid midseason will accomplish for the team. They just want a pound of flesh (okay, maybe a few pounds of flesh).

Behind this oline they still call 70% pass plays...
when Vick was struggling with throwing and making decisions and reading blitzes, instead of max protect, small ball, they play wide open get your QB killed ball..
They show no respect for the game nor us fans....
Stop the BS...
He is not a good coach.
His best move was Hiring the LATE GREAT JJ

And respect is earned by those who personally lead, mentor or acknowledge you, not given to someone who doesn't equally respect you as a fan and insults your intelligence.

he is the all time leading coach in wins historically for the club, made 5 NFC championship games and 1 Super Bowl, i'm very happy to see him leave but let him finish the season

so the play is for Lurie to tell Reid now (he already knows doesn't he?) and then give Reid the option to end it now or hold on til the end, his choice

Both are showing class.
The season is lost, sweeping organizational change seems certain and they are acting with dignity.
I respect that.

But show some class, like Lurie is doing. Wait the season out. Give him that much.
In fact, in a way, all this screaming and dissatisfaction is a tribute to Reid. 10-11 years ago these boards wouldn't have been NEARLY this pissed off about the last two years, because the previous 15 years would have been just as bad if not worse. Andy came and showed us how winners feel, and we want that feeling back, so everybody's screaming for his head when it will do absolutely ZERO good.
Call him a tease. He wouldn't go all the way, but at least thank him for the handie...

Fire him now so the focus can shift to the lack of talent. Youre actually doing Reid a favor.
Keep Reid until the end and you wont see how much of this is a talent issue vs scheme/playcalling

You're completely delusional. The team is not loaded with young talent. Each of its players have been overhyped and lemmings like yourself believe it instead of using your own eyes. The players stink. Horribly. All of them. Well, there might be maybe five players at most worth keeping, and none of those five are good enough to start on an actual competitive team. They're good enough to be backups. Our current backups have no business even being on an NFL roster.
This team is one of the worst ever assembled in the NFL. A bunch of con artists who have already quit. Disgusting.
And you have a scouting department that can't recognize even one good player. Not one! They sign a bunch of players with no heart.
