Agreed.

There's no excuse for any team that decides to bring an old man out of retirement to completely change (read "destroy") an offensive line system that was never that bad to begin with.

i was gonna hire a hit man to find you, if you said bring him back as a D-Cord

As an OL coach i wouldn't protest BUT i seriously doubt it'll happen

HOWEVER they need to go out and get a solid RT and a guard or 2...no one can fix this O-Line with the current players

You dopes really think any coach is going to make a nearly entire line of backups look good?

Not when their (Howard Mudd's) scheme is apparently so difficult to learn that known, quality starters can't even master it.

Read what Mark Scherlet said about Mudd and the Colts off.line . Payton made that line good and they were an
average line.

Yeah, Mudd's scheme is garbage.

It only works if you have one of the top 10 best QBs in NFL history.

This is from a man who said he looked as film and played a little.
Just his opinion and there it some truth to it.

Which "known, quality starters" couldn't master it? It's funny to hear this after Jason Peters and McCoy had their best seasons ever with this line scheme. Not to mention, this scheme made Mathis a sought-after FA, had a rookie, 6th round Center garnering attention as a future pro-bowler, and had Herremans playing RT at a pretty high level last season. Watkins ended up being the only real weak spot on the line by the second half of last season.

So again, which "quality starters" weren't able to master it?

Herremans.

Mathis and Bell were never this bad with their previous teams. If we had Howard Mudd back in 2009, we never would have traded for Peters because he's not Mudd's "type."

Nope. Time to start fresh. Juan's OL wasn't all that great to begin with. It's like how Reno Mahe wasn't a good return man, but when you see how much worse it can get he looks like Dante Hall in his prime.

Doesn't matter who the coach is when you got a wannabe Firefighter and a bunch of cast-offs/re-treads on the O-line.

Make him OC or QB coach! Or put him in the front office as GM!
