Honestly, I think holding should only be a 5 yard penalty. It's ridiculous that it's 10 yards.

Pass Interference shoud be allowed as well. The point is to prevent a reception.

Get rid of delay of game as well. If I have a 4th quarter lead, I want to run the clock out, even if there's 14 minutes left.

They should just let both teams put all of their players on the field for each play.

The most annoying call is the 5 yard defensive holding which results in a first down. You have 3rd and 17 and the ref calls defensive holding, normally a late call too. The bail out ref call for other bad calls.

Look how many players get called for holding penalties knowing the cost. Now imagine only a 5 yd penalty.

THey should be able to do this before the guy even gets the ball.... just as long as the ball is going his direction.

the game should be two hand touch for downs now...
it would greatly benefit our eagles considering all the speed ballz we have and how soft our guys are.

I don't care if there's gonna be more holding calls if the yardage were less. If there are three holding calls on a drive, that makes it 15 yards. Two holding calls would make it 20 yards with the original rule. That just doesn't seem right to me. So you think a holding call 3x in a row justifies 30 yards worth of penalties?

so you honestly think that offensive holding should have the same weight as a false start since you get to repeat the down? REALLY?

Offensive holding should be 10 yards because often that hold can prevent a guy from getting a sack which 9 times outta 10 is a loss for more then 5 yards

I say get rid of a lot of rules. Actually it would be better if you just had a smaller team of players on a circle field. Then throw in animals like Lions and Bears and make them fight them with only hand yielding weapons. We'd be all around cheering and chanting for the blood to pour!!!

I don't think that there should be automatic first downs on defensive penalties...Other than that..Keep it the way it is!

Well, if holding is 10 yards, it'd be a first down anyway.

the reason holding is such a severe penalty is to deter guys from holding, a ref could call holding every play and be justified in doing so, i think they should increase it to a 20 yard a penalty which would definitely deter guys from holding. if there is one thing i hate more than holding penalties its watching guys get away with blatant holding every play.

and why isn't spiking the ball intentional grounding?

On a more serious note, I think in addition to yards, offensive penalties should result in a loss of down. The way the system works now, it's essentially a free play.

it's the one exception. If you fake then spike it or drop back then spike it it is still intentional grounding.

I'm totally against letting QBs intentionally ground the ball once they're out of the poicket, and not call intentional grounding.

So far as I'm concerned, grounding is grounding.

see recent news in Kansas City as to why that's a bad idea
