Just wondering what they should be. Read an article on ST coaches who could be HC candidates. Makes me wonder, flashing back to 1999 what did he love about Reid in GB? Attention to detail and preparedness. I would imagine that would play a role again. Also some of this depends on his feelings on Foles. I think Foles gets a shot to keep a job but will lose out to a veteran in need of a new start, like a Sanchez or Rivers or Palmer. Perhaps we go for a backup on the hot stove or a 1st round bust reclamation project. I'd put out feelers for Blaine Gabbert as I would imagine he would be on the trade block.
My personal opinion on Luries specific check boxes is he wants a disciplinarian. Someone who will get players to pay attention and preach accountability along the lines of Singletary. I think AR is a players coach but 1 that has his grip. I think the D is such a big concern you have to wonder if Lurie will overreact to the D woes and get a D minded coach, which IMO bucks the trend of offensive minded hires. In my opinion Lurie needs to start with an organization rich with rings and coaching continuity...Pittsburgh. I would explore the Tomlin tree to find someone of his ilk, in his mold. Even keeled for the most part, stoic, yet fiery when need be. Also, this coach would understand the necessity of great D having been around such a winning organization. Other organizations I would check would be Minnesota, a team headed in the right direction and a similarly rebuilding and is a team of high character players post favre. Plus I see bo Wolfe and lurie as kindred spirits.
Regardless of where the spyglass focuses in on, it is important lurie not get a coach to just fix the D but one who can do that and limit turnovers. Overcompensation either way is discouraged

The exact opposite of Andy Reid.

Before the game they discussed that it would possibly be a offense based HC. But that's the same analyst that predicted Eagles being SB contenders. So take it with a grain of salt.

An offensive minded coach that places a heavy emphasis on discipline, balance, and red zone effieciency that also has exceptional clock management skills

Supposedly the coach has to be offensive minded coming from Mort and Schefter on ESPN. I think their first option is likely Chip Kelly. I think guys like Gruden, Mike Mccoy, Bill O'brien, Greg Roman, Dirk Koetter, and maybe even Josh Mcdaniels will be in the mix as well.

i'll agree with that. I want someone that'll have the stones to bench a player if he's not playing well.
no one on this team gives a rats butt about playing poorly because they wont be held responsible.

I honestly don't care at this point who the HC is, but if Rex Ryan and Norv Turner are both on the hot-seat then those are my coordinators. We'd be unstoppable.

he always goes for an up and coming coordinator/assistant. Forget Gruden and Cowher. Not happening

Don't think Rex is going to be fired after 1 dysmal season. Norv Turner on the other hand is as good as gone.

How about a Head Coach with a common sense approach to football....that's criteria enough.
