Wish i had some of those meds right now!  Glad you're recovering well.  I think the HC needs to be a combo of both.  Hopefully Lurie isn't looking for the next Reid.  Tenures like his come along only once in a while.  Need someone with a concrete, laid out 3-5 year plan like woody said.  Lightning in a bottle is what we're looking for

I feel like the full rebuild process wouldn't work for much of the fanbase as it would take time (there seems to be an element of impatience these days). So the major difference, IMO,  would be the time factor. Scenario 1, potentially, could work fast and have great results (tough-actin' Tinactin!)

Scenario 2 would more likely produce the next 'ERA'.

Not digging the College level HC of the Eagles.....they needs a pro running the ship ta fix this one... i do like what i see from San Frans OC Greg Roman...he be on my list to interview ........
The only players on this team that deserve their pay is the kickers....least their doing their job week in and out

I didn't mention names in my hypothetical as they don't matter for this discussion-HOWEVER- either scenario would not involve any current coordinators.

>>Disgusted: Lurie's error was keeping Reid WAAAAAAY too long. He and McNabb should have been out the door sooner than later. 14 years is insanity. INSANITY. Maybe AR stays as administrative person and the coaching job moves to another. Lurie blew it.

I'm completely open to a HC coming from anywhere. It need not be an already proven name for me. Just like T Brady was a nobody in the draft, our next HC can be along the same lines. I wish I were better able to explain what I mean by this.

>>PPW: results count more than reputation. reminds me of buddy ryan getting hired as cardinal HC. first thing he says is "you've got a winner in town". his team in phoenix never performed--even with a few of his old pals on the player roster.

I'm sorry, I just can't do it.........can't put this on AR.......he has done too much for this franchise for me to say.....4get about it and go and find another Jim Harbaugh......I say give him another year to show his worth......players get coaches fired........before everybody compares Vick to Manning or Brees or Rodgers or Brady or Rothlisburger, understand that the traits of those QB's are what make them special, you can't expect everybody to be just like that guy.......what happened to be your own person and cement your own legacy......AR staying here!.......its got my vote.....how about you???

So who's next?  Any guesses?

Rest well PPW.  Who knows, maybe next time you sign back in another player is released.

i hated babin, but the idiocy and mean-ness of comments on the internet is beyond compare. why attack the man ? "you have disappointed us, good bye". period. why insult and exult ? it's not like his absence is going to put this team back on track !! and by the way, why now ? why not two games ago ?
there's a strange weeding out going on at ncc. bizarre. it smells of indecision and not knowing where the solution resides. oui.

it reeks.

101...Babin being released cost the team an additional $800K this year. Aso being released would cost us another $11 Mil this year. Next year for Aso goes down to $4 Mil.

RT @RossTuckerNFL Babin already claimed termination pay in his career. 1-time thing means Eagles owe him nothing

975TheFanatic @975TheFanatic
McManus just said that Trent Cole walked out of a recent defensive line meeting. Things are not harmonious in the NovaCare Complex.

Is this Howie on his own from Lurie to send a late message to the team?  Or is this getting rid of players for next year's salary cap?

Whoa, Trent Cole walked out on a defensive line meeting?  Never would have thought he was like that.  Some teammate or coach must have really pissed him off.

DDD...It's very hard to discern what the move means.  Could there have been a flare up and that's why Cole walked out?  Not sure.  Move is perplexing at this time when team is out of contention.  If Roseman wanted to send message wouldn't he have done this sooner?

let's take what is said on twitter with a grain of salt, particularly regarding trent cole, who is my boy.

the move means nothing to me. it's not a wakeup call, it's not a message, for as df25 says it would have come sooner, and it's hardly a move to create a different rotation, unless they have a player in mind to add to the roster..

but i don't like it. i don't like the whiff of despair and last minute backbone appearances. i don't like it. we will see.

Wow, I wake up to find Babin cut and Cole walks out of a meeting? And why wait to cut Babs til now?

This reminds me of 'Men in Black' when the aliens start leaving Earth because the bug (and therefore War) had arrived. The Galaxy is on Lurie's belt.

-OR- perhaps I am still under heavy medication and this is all a strange dream.
Am I REALLY typing this.....?

DDD: 800k is whatever ,,,(least to them)  11 mill is a chunk of change ...didnt realize cutting him would cost so much ......then a restructure of his contract is in order.....

Firing Castillo worked great. OK, lets fire Babin...

Truly, Mr. Reid ought to be submitting his resignation to Jeff Lurie today.

These measures are grasping at straws.

What do you have to say about the LIFE BOAT now, Brizer?
