That could be the case, but more likely he's just another average QB ....like Matt Flynn or any number of has been journeymen QBs in the league. If he can learn to make good decisions quickly, if he can build better arm strength, ....ummm you mean if he can become a good QB, then he'll be a good QB? It's pretty bad when you question both the arm strength and decision making of your QB.
Unfortunately I see the Eagles as being just a bad team until they find a true elite franchise QB (like a top 4-5 QB) or the entire team is overhauled. The whole thing is pretty depressing but there's a much higher probability that we are as craptastic as the Browns for the foreseeable future than turning this around.

Kolb wasn't the answer either so no it doesn't hurt in the least. I just don't understand the Eagles fans sometimes. They just pine for a "pure pocket passer" cause they are fed up with McNabb and Vick without realizing that the vast majority of "pure pocket passers" in the NFL suck and are never going to win anything. What they really want is an elite pocket passer, unfortunately those are few and far between. Just because we didn't win a SB with athletic QBs like McNabb or Vick doesn't mean we'd be instant contenders with some guy who sits in the pocket, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Sometimes the grass is brown, crinkly, and crappy on both sides of the fence.

It is so hard to find that "true elite" QB. So many of these guys are complete busts and look alot like Foles in many, many cases. I think the current experiment is clearly a bust.

Kolb wasn't a true pocket passer. He had plenty of mobility and was smart. Reid chose legs over savvy and arm. The one thing about him was that he had fire....he had passion...he seemed to want it more than others. I think he is a huge upgrade over what we have now. He is in a pathetic system that doesn't suit him, so I don't want to hear about his performance right now.

If you want fire, I'll buy you a book of matches. Kolb is average, there are QBs in every NFL draft that are as good or better than him. If you want a Kolb...take your pick...Alex Smith, Matt Flynn, they're all Kolbs. They can play at the NFL level and that's no small thing, but you need a great team behind them to win...and unfortunately that looks like it'll require a team overhaul.
I know it's asking a lot for an elite QB...but that's how you win SBs, and compete on a regular basis. In the past 11 years...Brady, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Brees, Rogers, Big Ben, and Brad Johnson have been the only SB winning QBs. Other than Brad, they all have their teams competing for SBs every year.

The game was lost because of turning the ball over and not forcing turnovers. Oh, and letting guys run completely undefended down the middle of the field.
