If our veteran players like Peters, Kelce, Herremens all return healthy Foles will see better protection The experience he is getting this season will serve him well next season. I think too many of you are too quick to write this kid off. Lets see what he can do with improved support and better coaching. Right now all teams know they have the advantage. Knowing Foles is an inexperienced rookie. So are bringing the heat. It can turn into a blessing in disquise for next season.
As for the QB's in this seasons draft. There are no quarantees that anyone of them will be any better than Foles, or show as much potential.
Besides we have no idea what the new coach will see in him that we are not seeing with better coaching. Pederson in my mind was not any more than a back up QB. He has been his primary teacher from what I can see. So thats like the blind leading the blind.

Well, unless they can pull a Brady out of their butts in the later rounds, I don't see that they have much choice but to commit to the best guy available and pray he pans out. Even if there is a guy that they like and they're sure he will be there in the 3rd, I think they still have to make the investment in the highest rated guy and take them both. The longer they take to find a QB the less likely it is that they'll turn things around in time and then the next HC has an even worse team on his hands. The only team I can think of, who got their QB as the last peice of the puzzle, was the Steelers. Usaully it just turns into a revolving door at both QB and HC.

I saw go after someone like Luke Joeckel and move Herremens back to guard. Then you could possible trade back into the first or with the 2nd rd pick go after someone like Landry Jones,Mike Glennon, or Collin Klein to compete with Foles. You can get a qb late and still get someone as good as Barkley or Smith.

This is not a very exciting draft. Not a ton of deep talent here. It really is a bad year to have a top pick...which makes this season even worse.

that is a foolish draft philosophy. If you take the best available QB and hope he works out you end up with a Blaine Gabbert/Christian Ponder type player. The talent must be there to justify the pick.
It's not at all foolish for a new staff. The clock is running the second they take the job. Either they can try and fail to get their franchise QB or they can simply not even try at all, but they run out of time just as quickly either way. And then the next staff has an even bigger mess to fix and that's how you end up like the Redskins and the Browns. The only shot for a new staff to last more than 4 years is to get their QB early. 1st year is preferable, cuz that gives them a little wiggle room for development. If they wait until their second year, the kid's gotta start and he has to produce something positive right from the beginning.
