Perhaps, but he played OLB for the Texans already and failed, and the Ravens are a 3/4 team too, Babin is a LDE, was in college, he does'nt like the 3/4

Babin is useless outside of playing for Washburn, and even that hasn't helped him this year.

he's already collected his one time termination pay, so the move saved the team $1.5 million. the eagles clearly weren't going anywhere, this gives babin a chance to actually compete this year rather than play on our crappy team and then inevitably get cut at the end of the year.

Actually it is a classy move......he now has a chance to play a contender. Eagles probably said we are going to let you go in the offseason and we might as well do it now. Like Dawkins, said there is also something else behind the curtains...

Hey keep rationalizing it, I love it.  The dude had 18 sacks a year ago and has 5.5 this year.  This is just typical poor Eagles management.

How is this similar?  Those guys were not thrown off the team 10 games in to a season, the coaches at least kept them on the roster until the end of the year.

Oh it was great for the Eagles, they were going to cut him anyway, my point was it showed just how little class their organization has.  They treat players like this all the time.  They even let Dawkins go to the Broncos.  The Eagles have no loyalty to their players at all.  They never have.  If I were a player, I wouldn't want to go there.

Here's the thing though. Babin's a 1 dimensional player and at this stage wasn't worth the money for what he was giving the Eagles. Without the Wide 9 what's Jason Babin? Somebody that's been on 6 teams in less than 10 seasons and was a bust as a 1st round pick. 36 sacks the last 3 seasons, great. He's got 53.5 for his career. That should tell you something. Without that scheme he's not very good and in that scheme this year he wasn't very good.

Not denying anything you just said, although all of the Eagles fans were up until this year.  My point was wait until the off season to cut the player.  Doing it now shows a complete lack of class as an organization.
