Not denying anything you just said, although all of the Eagles fans were up until this year.  My point was wait until the off season to cut the player.  Doing it now shows a complete lack of class as an organization.

The Giants never cut anyone during the season?

Not unless they have a VERY compelling reason.  See Plaxico.

I saw Derrick Ward mentioned.  He was the best running back on their team and they still haven't properly replaced him.

Why does cutting a player during the year show lack of class? If he's good then he will be picked up off the waivers and still get his current contracts pay, if he sucks then that's his problem.

Please no response like, "well if you don't understand why cutting someone during the season shows a lack of class then you're obviously too stupid for me to explain it to," response...Give me a real reason why letting someone go during the season who is not producing as he should in his job is classless, especially when you have no clue as to what has happened in the locker room of a disgruntled 3-8 team

4 tackles, 1 for a loss today. Is that a career high?

Rofl you are so pathetic even trying to defend it.  There is a reason why it isn't done, and why it's so shocking when it is done.  But for a player to be performing and healthy to be cut 10 games in is an absolute insult to that player and his abilities.  He gave them 18.5 sacks in 2011, and he gave them 5.5 this year.  Your people knew he couldn't stop the run when he was signed, if they wanted to make a change the time was the offseason not week 10.  Total lack of class by the organization and it's not the first time.

The Eagles have always been as cheap as they possibly can, this was no exception.

So basically you're retarded and you have no reason as to why it's classless, you just want to spout off ignorance about the situation and try to use it as a reason as to why the Giants are better than the Eagles...Typical Giants fan on these boards.

I only need the one reason, it shows no class.  You also are showing no respect at all to the individual or his family.  To you Babin is a monkey that plays football.  He's a person, that could have kids that just had to uproot and move cross country in the middle of a season, learn a new teams playbook, crack their rotation, and start all over.  That's not cool.  You do that in the offseason, not now.  It shows a complete lack of class by the organization.  This player was not hurt, was not missing games or practices, and I haven't read one story where he was causing issues at practice.  Yet you dismiss that entirely because you're an Eagles fan and the Eagles did what was best for the Eagles with no regard for their player.  The Eagles deserve fans like you.  There is a reason why they "almost" get there.  Their treatment of veteran players is a big part of that.  The Eagles lack quality veteran leadership because anybody over 30 gets cut.  It's been that way for a long time.  Ask Brian Dawkins.

As for pointing out other specific reasons, no offense but I don't have a copy of his contract so I have no idea what money and options he lost by being cut.  Since I don't KNOW the financial implications of the move I am not going to comment on them.

No class? Were you in the locker room? Do you know for a FACT why he was even cut? People like you just like to hear yourself talk with absolutely nothing meaningful to say.

Classy move by the Eagles.  Cut the guy before the end of the season.  For no reason other than to say "f you" on his way out.  That will attract players to your organization for sure.

Like you did Plex, right? He wasn't even convicted yet and the Giants already started the process of regaining 1M or so of his bonus. Or how about when the Giants sat idle while Lawrence Taylor did all types of drugs during his career but allowed to to consistenly suit up on Sunday's? Is that considered classy?

Attract players to Philly? You sound crazy right now. In fact, Babin was allowed to walk in 2010 and came right back a year later. That's just one example of many. Philadelphia is and always be an attractive place to play.

If you are unfamiliar with the financial implications of his contract and refuse to comment on that then you should also forfeit the ability to speak of his personal life and family since you are unfamiliar with those situations as well.

This industry is about money, not players' feelings.

And Brian Dawkins didn't get cut, he was a free agent.

Nobody has ever been fired while they had a job?

I find that very hard to believe. I was laidoff before and my company didn't care if I had a family or not, that company makes billions and billions every year..

But things were once the exact opposite around here - which you would know if the name Mike McCormack means anything to you.

You want to define despair?  How about going 4-10 and then not having a draft pick until the fifth round, in an era where free agency didn't exist.

Who's to say Babin (and his master Washburn) weren't detrimental to the team. His play certainly wasn't HELPING anything. Probably tried to pull rank if they reduced his playtime, and he wasn't worth the headache.

Now he plays for another team, and his contract is off the Eagles' books. Babin says he loves Jacksonville. Everybody wins. No lack of class.
