Dave, I respect the position you are in and if you aren't able to be candid about everything involving Babbin's release it is understandable. However, please don't patronize us. We deserve better at this point. Clearly there was a bit more to Babbin's release than you alluded too in your article.

Uh he insulted fans and was a problem in the locker room and cared more about selling t-shirts through his fan club (what a joke) instead of winning which he never ever has done in the NFL 7 teams all losers

Those things just made it easier to cut him. I do believe they wanted to play the younger guys. They knew they were going to cut Babin after the season anyway. If you just bench him, he's still on the team and in the locker room and has potential to cause trouble. Best to get rid of him now.

I would rather see Curtis Marsh or Brandon Hughes miss a tackle than see Nnamdi avoid one. Why don't they cut Nnamdi ?
You didn't tell the whole story which the fans deserve to know at this point. You could have said "there may have been some other factors which led to Babbin's release but the bottom line is that the Eagles want to give more snaps to Hunt, BG, etc etc. At least let us read in between the lines.
How do you know he doesn't fit into next years plans given that we have no clue who will be the coach or gm ?
Did Reid make the descision to cut him or did it come from Howie or Lurie ? Is Reid still making all the final personel descions ?
Throw us a few bones Dave. We deserve it.

You know exactly why he was released.... and it has nothing to do with playing "the kids".
There was obviously a lot more to it that the Eagles are choosing to keep internal.
Whtaever... doesn't really matter at this point.
The only release that matters is Andy Reid's... how much longer can Lurie allow this sideshow to go on??

Pat,
About 5 more weeks.

The whole rationale just doesn't make sense. My guess is he was dogging it a little bit, wasn't working out in the locker room, they could save money by releasing him, or some combination of all that (along with his performance).

That's not how it works. Who the hell would coach the team with Reid, Marty and Juan all gone? Reid is not just the coach, he's the VP. And Lurie has said he won't make decisions until after the season. If Lurie fires Reid, he's going back on his word.
No, let this ship sink and get a higher draft pick. Keeping Reid will add all these losses to his record and get rid of any doubts that he should be fired.

For that matter why did we go into what was supposed to be a SB or bust season with Foles, a rookie QB, as the primary back up to Vick who we all knew wasn't going to last all 16 games?
Ahh actually forget it. None of it makes any sense. Even if I got answers to this question, ten more pop up.

Yep. In hindsight, man o' man, so many mistakes - by the FO and Andy - were made the past two years or so. With personel, drafting, FA's signed/let go, coaches hired/let go, etc...

When you find yourself asking why something Reid did doesn't make any sense, pretty safe bet the answer will be Reid.

There it is really. Nothing they did made sense. Kafka was up and down but I was shocked they just flat cut him given what we had as a starter and as a backup. I thought he'd at least be a competent backup for a game or two and Foles would develop. The whole rationale behind just about everything going on right now is just ridiculous.

Of all the uesless players we have, he's singled out. He must be more useless than what we thought?
Hope this doesn't backfire like the Juan firing...oh, I guess it really can't at this point...

It can't possibly backfire - he was a one trick pony whose one trick was no longer productive, the only coach he's ever had success with is more than likely to get canned, the fans hated his attitude and he had a big contract/cap hit next year (for which we are now off the hook.)
