Ol' Joe wasn't perceived as a warm and fuzzy type.  But still, he seemed to me the type of presence that kept everyone in the organization just a bit on edge.  Some people think that every organization needs their gatekeeper so to speak.  I was wondering - if Joe were still here, maybe a few more people in the office and locker room would be stepping it up a bit more.

He wouldn't have made any such difference. The whole thing is rotten to the core.

The whole lot of them have been here about 8 years too long. Hell, I'd say longer.

I started a thread a couple months ago moreless saying the same thing. That as Banners power decreased and Reids increased the team started to go down hill. I truly think its a spot on assessment of the situation. Also right after banner left he was asked about decisions Reid has made lately and if he agreed with them and he said no comment.  Pretty sure one of the first questions was about Reids hiring of Castillo and he said no comment as well. Banner seen what was gonna happen and had enough and got out.

I don't know - he certainly was a good front man to send out to deal with the media.     You know, a natural 'face of the franchise' kind of guy.

I'm not into speculation and hypotheticals ... I respect Joe a great deal and I wish him the best of luck in Cleveland, but he's no longer here. The chalenge for this franchise is to rebound from the down times and get back to the top of the division and beyond that.

As long as his disciple Howie Roseman is in charge of player contracts ONLY, Joe won't be missed......

But Howie is going to be in charge of everything so we are basically doomed to crap for a while get used to it.  Hollis Thomas said it best today "Joe Banners Secretary is in charge now"  Amazing how they ignore what the old eagles players say about this band of crap they put together.

Banner absolutely saw the ship sinking, and beat it the hell out of here.     Now watch him and Heckert rebuild the Browns before we see another winning season.

That'd be a kick in the a**.

Isn't he the guy who decided not to pay Dawk.  I don't miss him in the slightest.
