A lot of wild ideas flying around here lately.  I'm here to present a solution that gives the best of both worlds.  The following is the solution to the Andy Reid dilemma:  Allow Reid to take a sabbatical for the 2013 season and promote an interim head coach.  A year off will allow Reid a chance to be with his family, get away from the rigor of the NFL, properly deal with the tragedy of his son, and most of all recharge his batteries.  In 2014 reappoint Reid the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.  Reid will be charged up, motivated, and hungrier than ever.  Through drafting he'll have this team reloaded and back in the playoffs in no time.

Again ill remind you all that Andy Reid is the Philadelphia Eagles.  If that's a source of tension for you I suggest you go root for the Jaguars.

sorry but i just cant see it....

he's been saying he has to do a better job for 14 years, what makes you think a year off is going to make him any different.

Hell no. I'm actually pulling for Nutter to officially ban him from the city just to make sure.

His time is up here.   I truly believe he lost his real desire when his son died during training camp.   How could his mind be focused after such a tragedy?

He needs a year or two away and then maybe he comes back somewhere in college or the NFL.    It was a good NOT GREAT run for 14 seasons.   It is too bad he didn't get the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl.

No on all accounts. I don't want Reid back, and I don't want anyone currently on staff taking over for a full season on an interim basis. This team needs a total Andy Reid cleansing.

That's become as annoying as "Superbowlzzzzz", "Urlakkerzzzzz", and "Times Yours" responses.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, from the outside with a strong coaching acumen is going to accept an interim role as HC. The only candidates who would consider such a proposal are Reid's cronies on this current staff and we clearly do not want any of these guys running the team and making critical, long term personnel decisions.

No, it's time to clean house and usher in a different era  of Eagles football. These players no longer respond to the current regime. The entire coaching staff needs to go (with the exception of RB coach Ted Williams and possibly Deuce) and a roster makeover that jettisons the dead wood on this team needs to happen.

I don't think it works like that there playa. This isn't Chuck Pagano here we are talking about, #1

#2, if it was too much for him to coach this year then he shouldn't have coached, you can't use the "but he was distracted" excuse when he had an out at the beginning and everyone would have understood why.

#3, what if this temp coach of yours peels off 12 wins and superbowl (just for S&G's). You gonna fire him so Joe Paterno, I mean Andy Reid can be the coach till death do us part (no disrespect to Joe Paterno)?

And I shall notify you that Andy is NOT the Philadelphia Eagles, many came before and many will come after him. If you can't deal with that I suggest you go root for the team he is coach of next year.

No No NO maybe Andy should be promoted up director of football operations or something else but he is done as head coach it is time to move on from his failed policys. I have a feeling we will see Andy emerge in Cleveland just a hunch.

Andy already holds the title of Executive VP of Football Operations in addition to HC.

Can't do that in the NFL. You can't just take a year off and come back like every thing will be fine. If he's gonna leave the Eagles it's gotta be for good. You can't just go with a placeholder for a franchise like this. To me that's just a ridiculous suggestion. You don't do that in the NFL. Reid is far from being the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles had some success before him and most definitely will have success after him. The Eagles will move on. This franchise will not fold up and die if Reid isn't here.

I think Andy Reid ideas about coaching have gone South.   As far as him taking a year off and coming back.  he will bring the same crap he believes in for the time he has been in Philly.  The crap doesn't work anymore. So long Andy.  :nonono:

not hardly.  I'd still wear the Kelly greens and stop being interested in this team until they actually took football seriously again.  Which if Howie is leading the rebuilding process,  will be in about 5 years.
