http://www.nj.com/ea...ie_roseman.html

At 3-8 with a coach that everyone assumes will be fired at seasons end, rumors are going to circulate.

While all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, the latest one should be of interest to Eagles fans who are hoping their team goes after Oregon head coach Chip Kelly.
Because according to one report, they have already started.

Pro Football Weekly recently published an article compromised of quotes from NFL coaches, scouts, and front-office personnel. Here is what one of them had to say about the Eagles pursuit of a new head coach.

"I’ve heard talk about (Eagles GM) Howie Roseman already meeting with (Oregon head coach) Chip Kelly," said one of Pro Football Weekly's sources. "Obviously, there are no rules preventing a GM from talking to a college coach during a (school) visit."

Again, all rumors should be taken as just that- rumors. It's hard to believe that Roseman would meet with Kelly considering that Andy Reid is still the head coach. It's also hard to believe that Kelly would take a meeting with his team 11-1 and preparing for a bowl game.

Still, Pro Football Weekly has been right before when it comes to the Eagles. They were one of the first to report about the bad blood brewing in the Eagles front office before Joe Banner left.

Whether or not they are right about this report remains to be seen, but it certainly is interesting if they are.
Either way, Eagles fans should get used to these reports. Until Reid is gone and a new coach is in place, the off-season is going to be filled with speculation, rumors, and reports.

But with the way the team has been playing recently, that might be the better alternative.

Oh, dear Lord - I'd sooner see David Shula as HC of the Eagles than Chip Kelly.

The thing that concerns me about Kelly is that he has never coached in the NFL, and not just as HC or OC but any level at all. It might be a difficult transition since he would be a rookie NFL coach in every sense of the word.

hey if he turns out to be great then its worth it. he knows how to be a head coach, thats all that matters. maybe he hires an OC with alot of NFL experience. Hell id love it if andy become head of football orerations and chip is the coach. that would be hella interesting.

That is about the only thing to look forward to over the next several weeks.

Anyway, probably just doing their due diligence.

Kelly is nothing more than a college knock-off of Andy Reid, whose teams choke in big games!

If you'd rather have him than Bill Cowher or Jon Gruden or Tony Dungy or Brian Billick - or even Rob Ryan, for that matter - it is you who is not very bright.

At least with Rob Ryan we wouldn't have D-linemen who would be LBs on any other team, and LBs who would be safeties on any other team.

There has been a ton of speculation that Howie will have a major role in the hiring of the next HC.  If he is going to remain as GM (which is probably likely, unfortunately), then the next best thing is to hope Howie does a better job at selecting the HC than he does draft picks.  And further, that the new HC has final say as to which players are drafted.

Chip Kelly needs to be the next coach of the Eagles.  He is the hottest name since Jim Harbaugh, and NFL people believe that he will develop an offense that would torch the NFL with all the new rules.

Kind of luke warm on Chip Kelly. He could be a huge failure. Although if he is a huge failure that would probably end up meaning the end of Roseman here too if it is true that he's leading the new HC search.

How is the Patriots offense working? The one offense that all the NFL analyst and media are calling a juggernaut. Chip basically told Bill how to build his offense that the Pats run this season. Chip isnt stupid, he knows he cant have a mobile Qb running all over the field cause they wont last. Chip as talk to many college football analyst and told them he would make his offense taylor made for the NFL game. Chip is a true true offense guru, he will have a master plan for the NFL.

I do not want Chip Kelly. He's one of the college versions of Andy Reid. He chokes in big moments, he is poor in clock management, and he think's he's totally awesome because he runs a sizzle and flash scheme. Screw that nonsense. I also don't want any retread coaches either. Just hire Marc Ross and pick up Winston Moss, Ray Horton, or someone else like that.

Bill O'Brien is who I won't. He even looks like a no nonsense NFL HC!
