Not since the Pittsburgh game, have we lost squarely because of Vick. You and plenty of other TATERs and too blind with hatred to see that. Vick throws a pass to Celek in New Orleans and it bounces off of his hands and gets picked. That's Vicks fault but when Foles threw the same INT in DC, that's Celeks fault.
Not only has Foles looked mediocre up to this point but he also has given no indication of having any real promise. Most rookies will at least show you a flash of their potential, even if they're struggling. Foles has not. Now, I agree that Foles should finish the year out but what excuses are the Nickeaters going to make when he has a bunch of awful starts to end the year? Are you going to blame it on him being a rookie? You can only use that excuse for so long. Rookies are coming right in and being productive and Foles already has had a few games under his belt. I don't want to hear anything about the O-Line either, considering that isn't a "valid excuse" according to you Foles lovers.
And I don't give a ish about Vicks contract or how long he's been in the league, I'm talking about now and what goes during the games. Not what goes on in the contract rooms or what went on in 2005.
You're funny. While there were people dumb enough to blame Mike for the one pass, and Celeck for the other, there were
FAR & AWAY more vick suckers claiming the exact opposite. That it was celecks fault on his 1st tip, but
PURELY Foles fault on his 2nd tipped ball. But of course you guys are OK with
THAT bit of "Vicklogic".
Obviously, both qbs BIGGEST problem this year is Andy. The line he's given them to play behind. His refusal to commit to using one of the best running backs in the league. His play-calling has been so abysmal that he's had both qb's trying to accomplish something in the redzone with this decimated line and...... an empty backfield
But we aren't judging Mike on this year alone. We're judging him on his play on the field since he joined our team. The fact is, his on field play has done nothing but regress. More accurately, his results regressed,as defensive players have become more and more aware that Mike no longer has any 'super-human' skills. And DC's have become aware that they can- 1, bring pressure with minimal risk that Mike will 'make you pay', with either his arm
OR his legs, and that 2, when pressured, Mike makes
VERY poor decisions with the ball. Rookie mistakes like throwing a ball to a triple covered Celeck.
We also judge him on his play in Atlanta, and the simple truth is, that despite yards of highlight footage of individual plays, his yards per game, completion percent td to int ratio and qb rating were always WAY below par, and Atlanta only began to make the play-offs with Mike, when the took the ball out of his hands, and brought in to go with Duckett and became a run 1st offense. Even then, Mike was their teams weak link that good/great DC's like our beloved JJ exploited to defeat them when the games became 'must wins' like the play-offs.
Mike never won anything of consequence with Atlanta, but at least his physical talents were exciting to watch. Mike has even less chance to win anything of consequence now that his gifts have been eroded by time and age, and now in his loses, he no longer has the gifts to at least be entertaining.
Mike was always the football novices choice at qb, all flash and no substance. Only now, he doesn't even have the flash left, and his fanboi's are running on the delusion that he's "just a tweak away" from Mike suddenly becoming something he's never been in his entire career spanning college and the pro's- a championship quality QB.
So if Foles play continues to show NO growth, it will only mean we have a rookie qb who shows ho sign of growth as a qb, and a ten year vet who shows no sign of growth as a qb.
Once again, if Foles sucks it doesn't mean Vick has talent. Far from it. It simply means we have two qbs that suck Mike Vick
AND Nick Foles.
